definitely NOT COVID-19
Does anyone else feel like this?

Wow!
What a week it has been.
Kyleigh's world has been turned upside.
I feel the worst for her.
NO more campus life,
hang'in with her BYU people,
no more dance, no more performances.
They had an in-state tour of 50 performances
coming up in the Spring.
That will be no more.
All that hard work and practice for noth'in.
It's pretty much devastating for her.
She was in tears.
I really wish I could have taken some
pictures and video
OR articulate the details at my work
at the school on Thursday.
{Our Murray School District was the first to close in the whole State.}
It was a tad cray cray for a bit for the 20 something of us
trying to prep all the kid's chrome books
to take home for
"at home digital learning"
that will take place for the next two weeks
or longer...
all while parents were flocking to the school
to check out their kids earlier than we'd hoped.
Hearing Brie's experience at the Junior High
was hilarious.
You can imagine the scene there.
Emma's experience at Costco that day
reduced her to tears
as she lost her 3/4th blind g-ma amongst the
chaos of carts and people.
My sister who works at Sam's Club in Marketing
said it was the weirdest day in the 12 years she's been there
and she's had some doozie days!
People were yelling at each other.
A guy literally stole a package of t.p. from a lady's cart.
75% of food gone.
The hubs had a flurry of activity as news like this effects
all aspects of his life...
working at the hospital,
being on the school board, and Bishop'ing.
This is all a bit crazy, no?
And sad.
I'm the saddest for Kyleigh's lost opportunities,
then bummed for mine and Jaren's cancelled
Chicago trip
and the dashed hopes of my Cougars
in the NCAA tournament.
Also, hoping Emma and Kyleigh's Celine Dion
concert will be rescheduled.
But if not, they can go to another one
of those some day.
It's these once in a lifetime kinda experiences
taken away before they even happen that sucks.
Feel sorry for those graduating at the Y in April as there is no commencement.
{Kyleigh is so grateful she decided to extend and not graduate next month.}
Everything else I can handle, no work, no school, no church..
๐
It's like a true introvert's BEST dream! haha
I don't have to go anywhere....
I can just stay HOME!
As far as my thoughts go on this
coronavirus bug:
Half of me has felt like this issue is
soooo over blown and we are overreacting,
{people hoarding toilet paper, water, hand sanitizer
and food off the grocery shelves}
yet the other half of me is creeped out
seeing how the United States, and other parts
of the world have or seem to be shutting down.
And the virus is spreading.....
It's kind of eerie.
{When all Disney parks are closed for two weeks
you know something isn't quite
right with the world.}
As far as things go at our house,
There is obvious concern and worry
about my parent's health,
not panic, but an over abundance of caution
because they live with us.
Some of us in the house are
germ freaks as it is.
So that's been lovely, as you can imagine
the anxiety in that area has skyrocketed.
First and foremost is the issue of keeping my
elderly parents healthy.
My mother in law too.
For that reason alone I'm glad for the
social distancing
and the precautions our
church and State have taken.
This is necessary, not only for the
elderly population in our communities,
but for our healthcare system and hospitals
so they are not overwhelmed.
They say this will get worse
before it gets better,
but hopefully we'll have softened the peak
of those getting infected
by our proactive measures.
In other news.....
Before all the coronavirus scare
hit the fan on Wednesday
the elementary school threw a Dr. Seuss
early morning celebration
with donuts and reading.
That's the last thing Kate and I want to do
is go to school earlier then we have to
so we threw a little
celebration of our own later that day at home
reading a few of our Dr. Seuss books.
*****
LAST weekend some of the girls and I
went to see THIS!
We've been looking forward
to the release of this movie
for quite some time.
Although not our favorite version,
we enjoyed it.
{Despite Mr. Knightly being butt ugly. Sorry!
And Emma's nose bleed. Weird.
Mrs. Bates was delightful..one of my favorite characters.
The costuming and home decor...eye candy!}
The week leading up to we tried watching the
three other versions of Emma.

*****
Kyleigh had a quick trip to Vegas
with some friends last weekend.
She knows I like food pic'sso she always sends me some....
They went to a bizarre magic show
that they ended up really enjoying.
*****Some of things I'm lov'in right now
that you might too
especially if you are spending
some more down-time
at home in the next few weeks...
I feel like I can go to institute every day
if I want by watching these
seminary/Institute teachers.
They do a Come Follow Me Series called
"Don't Miss This" on YouTube
and also by podcast.
I prefer watching them.
I didn't find out about them till this
past December so
I missed all of their New Testament
lessons from last year.
I enjoy these guys SO MUCH
that I've gone back and am listening
to some of their lessons
from the New Testament.
They just have a way of personalizing
the scriptures and making them come alive.
Also, they have a book of study worksheets
to fill out if you want,
I've done a few of those but
I'm not really a studier per say.
Naughty me, but I'd much rather
watch and listen OR read a little
daily devotional from this book
below that they have written.
Also I've enjoyed listening to this
First Vision
podcast this week.
Trying to prep like President Nelson
has asked us to do
for the 200th Anniversary of this event.
If you want a good laugh listen to these two....
Leanne Morgan is
MY FAVORITE DRY BAR COMEDIAN.
She does a series with her Nurse Practitioner
friend about Menopause.
I believe at 47 years of age I'm just
in peri-menopause,
but my gosh THEY ARE HILARIOUS!!!
ENTIRE post by itself.
Which I will probably do in the near future
because I need to talk about
this amazing find.
I am an I.F.'er {that sounds horrible ๐}
but it's lingo for Intermittent Faster.
I have been since the beginning of January
and it has been a game changer.
It's my way of life now.
It's not a diet.
{I've never been in to dieting}
It's a health plan, with a possible
side effect of {slow, not fast} weight loss.
Gin Stephens is the author of
Delay, Don't Deny.
An excellent book, which I would recommend
for anyone to read who wants to
improve their health...
She also has podcasts and an awesome fb group.
Happy Podcasting!
