Father's Day!
My guy likes Coke Zero.
So I made a centerpiece out of them
in his honor.
π
I found these "Pop" print-ables
on-line free.
The hubs shared his Father's Day Oreos with
the kids.
Then he hid the rest.
π
He was meant to be an "all girl's" dad!
We luv the Poppi!
He wanted seafood for
his Father's Day meal.
He cooked up a big batch of mussels.
{Kate was so excited as she has
been craving them.
They are one of her fav's.}
Guys, if you are a fan of
balsamic vinegar run to
buy this glaze at Costco...
along with this garlic butter
from Sam's Club...
The combo is SO SO delicious!!
My cute dad on Father's Day!!
He's a gem.
Some of my siblings [all masked up}
were able to come
visit him on the deck Sunday evening.
*****
It was cookie week at our house!
{More like a week and a half.}
π
This cookie right here from Crave called the
Rockstar
is my current favorite!!!
Vanilla dough based..stuffed with pretzels, toffee, chocolate chips
and topped with sea salt.
YUM!
The fam tried Ruby Snap.
I really wanted to like them.Cute little store, the names of their cookies,
their vintage boxes!
But we didn't care for them like
we thought we would.
The snickerdudette seemed to be the favorite
out of all the
ones we taste tested.
Goodly Cookie seems to be myfamily's go-to more often than
not. My three oldest's favorites
are their Chocolate PB Love,
and White Chocolate Raspberry Delight.
The hubs fav is their standard chocolate
chip, the Goodly General.
{I appreciate that they offer a gluten free
chocolate chip when I don't want any more
wheat intake for the day. π}
ALTHO MY FAVS from Goodly are their
seasonal Oh Sweet Lemon and Apple Strudel.
Also their seasonal Mint Oreo and their S'more
{which was available this week} is always
a favorite for Kyleigh.
Taylorsville called Twisted Sugar.
The oatmeal chocolate chip with cookie
butter frosting came highly recommended.
The banana cream pie and s'more were also
a hit. {They do offer a gluten free
sugar cookie.} FYI: These are more of a cold
cookie like Swig and Sodalicious.
I don't have cookies THAT often,
altho I/we have
had our fair share the last
week and a half for sure!
I'm no cookie monster, but I do enjoy them.
{but not as much as ice-cream}
π
Here are some others I highly recommend.
* Molasses at Backer's Bakery*Raspberry Cream Cheese from Crumbl
*Triple Chocolate Chunk from Jimmy Johns
*Mrs. Hewitt's Gluten Free Peanut Butter
{Costco used to sell this brand..bummed that
they don't anymore, as of right now anyway.}
P.S. You can find it at Penguin Brother's
Ice Cream Cookie Shop in Sugar House.
Bless them!

Here's to other random Summer happenings...
Kate made "picking up dog poop" shoes
out of tin foil and duct tape.
She's also working on ty-dying
some white tennis shoes with
Sharpie markers and rubbing alcohol.
She is looking forward to the tree house
being completed in Gma C's backyard.
She made pancakes from scratch...
Two kinds of mousses.Chocolate and Mint Chocolate Chip.
and homemade hummus with Emma.
THIS WAS SOOOO GOOD! You
just need a can of chic peas {garbanzo beans}
cumin, tahini {ground sesame seeds}
and olive oil.
No need for any of that soybean oil crap
that some of the store brands have.

In other food news...
I got to try this gluten free Bacon-Berry
Pizza from the Pie. It was tasty. Although
I think it would have tasted even better with
normal crust. Most pizza's do!
π
We've been trying a different meal delivery
service just to see which one we like better.
Freshly offers gluten free chef prepped meals
that you just heat up and plate.
THE CONVENIENCE is unmatched.
I will say there is some satisfaction
of cooking up a nice meal.
Even though the time it takes- plus the
aftermath...the mess and all the dishes
I'm definitely not a fan of.
I think we are going to keep both
subscriptions and just alternate. You can
pause/skip delivery weeks
without canceling, which is so nice.
I got to try a burger joint in Provo
called CHOM BURGER.
LOVED!
We ate outside and hardly a soul was there.
It was lovely.
I tried the Frozen Strawberry Lemonade
for the first time at Fizz. The young women
and some of us leaders
rode our bikes to the drink shop
for our activity this week.
Kyleigh had a fun food adventure with
some friends...
*****
In other Kyleigh news....
Me, Hannah and Brie
went down to try and help
Kyleigh find some housing for
her last yr or semester {if she
decides to just be done with it and
graduate} of school. Her plan is to
move down for Fall
semester now that BYU has announced
there will be some on campus classes
and not all on-line.
Commuting back n forth every day was
getting a bit much.
This gave me flashbacks from BYU apt hunting
3 years ago with Kyleigh, Emma,
and my two nieces.
There was a spot available in this historic
house that we toured.
Hannah said it had Vampire Dairy vibes
and she would visit often. haha
Brie and I DID NOT LIKE. We were
wigged out. {Too old} I was glad it wasn't
BYU approved housing.
*****
B's favorite spot to read is
on the back porch...
she does it often.
I love looking out the kitchen window
and seeing her there.
*****
I said goodbye to my Springtime porch decor...
and got it ready for the 4th of July
whether we can celebrate it or not...
No parade, fireworks etc. this year
with Covid still looming overhead.
Utah has 590 new cases today.
π³
And we are supposed to go back to church on Sunday???
I ain't going.
