Our Chuck-Wagon themed Sunday dinner in honor of the Days of '47
These Sunday themed dinners take a village with Emmsie and I decorating and grandma, me, dad, Kyleigh and Emma doing the cooking....We ate biscuits and gravy, baked beans, pulled pork and corn on the cob out of tin plates. We had a "corn" theme going on with the appetizers....corn nuts, corn salsa and chips and little cornbread muffins served from an upside down straw cowboy hat.
Silly Sasparilla was served from the saloon in Kerr canning jars with gun shaped drink stirrers.
Cow pies, Peach Cobbler and a S'more No Bake Silky Pie for dessert....oh my! Don't think the Pioneers ate this good!
Emma was our wanted outlaw with a gun...
This, along with dinner at Cracker Barrel and doing fireworks with the neighbors=good times this weekend celebrating our pioneer heritage! Hannah gave a talk today in Primary about her Great Great Great Great Grandmother, Mary Cook Brown. She left her husband and home in Scotland and along with her four young boys sailed from Liverpool, England to America. She was part of the Evans Handcart Co where she and her boys pulled a handcart 1,182 miles from Iowa to Utah....arriving in the Salt Lake Valley Sept 11, 1857. What a faithful Latter-Day Saint....we are darn proud to be a descendant of such a brave and courageous woman!
