Bonjour!

Bonjour!
I’m a 51 year old mother of five amazing daughters and wife to a caring, sensitive AND sexy husband. I adore my family. I’m dedicated to my faith. I enjoy a good laugh. I'm nostalgic and love to reminisce. "Remember" is my favorite word in the English language. I love life! I’m passionate about music, food and {dreams of} traveling the world. I wanna be a castle and waterfall chaser. I’m fascinated with anything European. {PARIS! Hello!} I love celebrating anything and everything! I love to read, especially a good biography, mystery, Regency Era Romance or Historical fiction novel. I love thoughtful gift giving. To me the gift wrap is almost as important as the gift itself. I have a bit of an obsession with gift boxes and gift bags. As well as old world maps & globes, apothecary bottles and jars! I love being creative…bolts of ribbon, coordinating scrapbook papers, producing a table scape, or planning décor for a themed party puts a smile on my face. I love the details! I’m a freak for anything theme oriented. I enjoy event planning, but oddly enough do not like to host or entertain. I enjoy fashion, but have to really be in the mood to clothes shop. I love purses and funky costume jewelry. Especially big rings! I’d rather wear wedges or heels any day than flats. I enjoy decorating and searching for the perfect decorative pillow or picture. However, you’ll never see me frequent high-end stores. I'm more of a Ross, TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning kind of gal. My favorite decor style is an old world rustic Italian chateau/Spanish Villa look with a hint of bohemian! OR a vintage shabby chic French country cottage/English cobblestone farmhouse. My #1 cookie-Molasses! Autumn is my favorite season. I’d go through childbirth a million times. I enjoy biking with my man, Pilates, and power walking. You’ll never find me in a gym working out. I love movies, whether watching them in the theatre or cuddled up on the couch with my family. I enjoy a good chick flick or real life drama! I'm a sucker for movies on the Hallmark & Great American Family Channel. I have a tender heart for the elderly. I adore Disneyland. I enjoy being in the canyon on a summer or fall evening at dusk. I love my friends. While I have some extroverted characteristics. I’m a self proclaimed introvert. I’m generally quiet, calm, reserved and pretty darn private. Why in the heck do I blog? It’s a creative way to record family history. I enjoy photography. I really don’t like to write, although I write in my journal often. My journals, patriarchal blessing, scriptures, quote book, and beloved Christmas tree filled with ornaments of family memories are among my prized possessions. I love the beach. I enjoy WWII history. I love a clean, orderly house, but ours usually looks lived in. ;) PBS Masterpiece is my friend. I adore Jane Austen films. They transport me to another time and place. If I had to choose another time period in which to live, early 19th Century England would be my pick. "Sense and Sensibility" is my all time favorite movie. My 3 favorite TV series are...BBC's Larkrise to Candleford, the 1950's Spanish Drama "Velvet," and the travel/food show "Somebody Feed Phil." My biggest pet peeve is people who blow their noses in public. So gross! {Take it to the bathroom people.} I’d go on a wine tasting vacation if it wasn’t against my religion. I’ve always wanted to adopt a baby from a foreign country. I’m an avid BYU football fan. I'm a Educational Support Professional. I tutor elementary kids in phonemic awareness, phonics, reading, fluency and comprehension. I love our campfires at Scofield Lake. I have a 'thing' for fairy gardens, Gallic French roosters, fresh flowers in a vase, pretty bowls & plates, and yummy smelling candles & soap. I love summer rainstorms and warm baths. I'm a scripture podcast fanatic. I'm also a fan of several Fox News shows; Hannity and Dave Ramsey Talk Radio. I very much miss Rush Limbaugh! I hate when my kids have homework. I'd rather clean 20 toilets than give a talk or prayer in church. I have quite a collection of Madame Alexander Dolls, children's books, Disney pins, and quotes. My favorite quote is "Don't underestimate me. I know more than I say, think more than I speak & notice more than you realize." True True LOL! I always prefer sitting in a back row versus the front. {I'm sort of a seat snob..yikes} I also have high expectations for my lemonade, salsa, and french fries too. HA! I work well behind the scenes. I love a good Dateline, 20/20 or 48 Hour Mystery. I’m a night owl. I'd rather be cold than hot. I love to budget our finances! I enjoy being a chauffeur to my children. I'm not a huge fan of social media. I don't snap, pin or tweet. All I want for Christmas every year is a ticket to the Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. It's my FAVORITE. I’m an Anglophile…a royal watcher who loves anything English! Especially tea parties! I would like to serve a church mission to England with Jaren someday. I'm queen of paper towel, used kitchen dishrags and sponges kinda make me squirm. You’ll rarely find me out of the house not ready for the day, except when driving the kids to school on the days I don't work. I feel naked without lipstick or lip gloss. Mismatched socks, chipped fingernail polish, chapped lips and brownie crumbs on the floor drive me nuts! I like to organize and BE organized..but not saying I always am. ;) I enjoy hiking to waterfalls, ATV’ing with my family and snowshoeing with the hubs. Although I enjoy collecting recipes and occasionally watch cooking shows... (Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade, Paula Deen, Jamie Oliver, and the Pioneer Woman are my favorites) I’d rather not cook. Eating out is so much more fun. I'm a foodie. I live to EAT! LOL Trying new foods and restaurants is a favorite past-time, and believe it or not so is intermittent fasting. I'm not good at a lot of things... but gosh, if you need help with a themed celebration or someone to enjoy good food with, I'm your girl. I love the joy of anticipation and the celebration of holidays. Family traditions are important to me. I'm a memory preserver. I'm a pathological picture taker ;) a visual storyteller, and a lover of happy lists!

What's On My Happy List?

Mission Update 42

Hello March!!!

So we had yet another eventful week here in Bangeojin!

First we went to a bonfire for FHE with some members in the ward on Monday night. It was on the beach and they lit a huge tree/bush (I forgot what it's called in English) on fire! There were fireworks and fun music!

We had Zone Conference! This transfer we are studying repentance. Repentance is such an important part of the doctrine of Christ and sometimes the most difficult to teach because people don't understand that repentance covers sooooo many aspects. People see it as only if they do something really bad.. then they need to repent. But really we should be using Christ's Atonement everyday! When we do we can progress and feel happier :)

There was a lady in our ward that has been a convert for twenty years and she just barely went to the Temple for the first time! It was amazing to help her along with the process of getting prepared to go to the Temple. I am so happy for her and she is such a sweet spirit! She is also planning on getting her Patriarchal Blessing soon which is something we taught her about! She had never heard of it! Shocking right??? But now she does and she hopes to get it soon :)

On a less exciting note...I legit almost threw up from having to eat too much food. They feed us so much here and if we don't eat A LOT it's bad manners and can break your trust with members...It came to taking deep breaths between each bite of food...my comp thought it was pretty funny...but luckily I survived!

Love you all soooo much! Thank you for all your prayers and support! Have a good week! I'll talk to you again real soon!

xoxo

In other family news this week...

Friday night Hannie was on a Stake Laurel over nighter up at a cabin in Midway. She got to go moonlight snowshoe-ing. Seriously how fun.
{I was a tad bit jealous.}
Emmsie was out with girlfriends so the younger two got to join the hubs and I at one of our favorite dives.

*****
Day Date!
On Saturday Emmsie held the fort down while the hubs and I escaped for half the day. ;)
She took the kids to dinner and a drive thru stop at Roxberry to visit her best friend at work...

We did some pre-birthday shopping for the hubs at one of his favorite stores...Cabela's..
I love that he is passionate about his outdoor hobbies. He LOVES to fly fish! He also has a thing for guns, knives, flashlights, hammocks, and emergency prepper stuff.
Cabela's is awesome, although not really my kind of store.
But I figure this store to him is like having ROSS, TJ MAXX, HOME GOODS, TUESDAY MORNING all in one grand location for me. ;)

We then headed to Provo and ate at a gourmet pizza restaurant called Malawi's Pizza.
A very unique African flare dining experience.
{LOVE trying new eating places.} I'd definitely go here again. Very yummy!

{Another great thing about this place is they are all about giving back...every meal you buy they donate a nutritious meal to a child in Malawi, Africa.}

We ended our evening by attending the last BYU home basketball game of the season.
Packed house.
Crazy game.
Good time.

We celebrated Leap Year!
Emmsie and I tried out a new sugar cookie bar recipe.
{Our festivities were pretty low key compared to our Leap Year celebrating four years ago HERE}

and of course we watched THIS. I just love this show.

On a side note... the lovely Matthew Goode is NOW Mary's husband on Downton Abbey.
Man I couldn't get over that latest Downton episode. So many epic scenes.
The Marigold conversation at the breakfast table. {Oh my!}
Edith's man leaving. {Sad!}
Tom chewing out Mary. {so long overdue}
Mary at Matthew's grave. {gah!}
Barrow bleeding to death in the bathtub.. {Dang!}
Moseley's proud teaching moment {Go Moseley!}
Poor Mrs. Patmore and her 'house of ill repute' {funny!}
Mary and Edith's sister bonding convo and of course the wedding. {Awe!}
It was all just too good.
Not sure how the finale is going to top that 8th episode.

My man turned 49!!!
The night before his b-day I fixed stuffed peppers for him...one of his favorite meals!

He took the afternoon of his birthday off and we hit one of our VERY favorite restaurants for Mexican. ...The Cantina Southwestern Grill.

We practically had the restaurant to ourselves on a Tuesday afternoon.. so quiet and nice. Their all you can eat salsa bar and chips is one of my VERY favorite food indulgences.

Birthday Boy!
He loves his pic taken as much as getting a root canal so... I have to be sneaky.

We hit the theatre after to see RACE.
SO VERY GOOD.

We tried out the VIP theatre for the first time...

Have to admit those recliner seats were pretty awesome.
{Certainly don't need to be in the VIP all the time, but did you know I'm sorta a movie theatre seat snob? haha }
It has to be the very right back corner every time or I feel out of place.

*****
Random School Stuff!
One day this week the older girls had a late school start {like 12:15!} while the Juniors took the ACT.
I took them to Kneaders for a french toast breakfast.

and then as if Hannah didn't get enough breakfast... she joined friends for pancakes...

Brie is at recess when Kate and Taylor are heading in for afternoon Kindergarten. She tries to come and say HI to us. :)
*****
Dentist trip!
Kate needs 4 + teeth pulled soon to make room for her permanent that are trying to come in.
*****
Celebrating Dr. Seuss Birthday!

Kate and I made red and white kabobs out of strawberries and marshmallows to replicate the Dr. Seuss hat.

{found the 'hat' printable on line}

Green eggs and ham!
Most of us just wanted eggs with a little bit of green pesto not your full out green food coloring eggs. not so appetizing ;)

*****
Young Women's New Beginnings!
We sorta reached another milestone as Brie will be in Young Women's this year. Say What????
Not til October, {thank goodness} but she got to attend New Beginnings Night as they spotlighted the incoming Beehives.
*****
Kindergarten Field trip!
On the bus on our way to see the national touring production of "Chicken Dance"

The auditorium was filled with Kindergartners and 1st graders!
{Way too much stimulation for me. just say'in}

*****
