Can you believe that? We kept asking and re asking her what kind of party she wanted to have to celebrate her birthday. Scooby Scooby..{We were hoping she would eventually change her mind haha..only because I recently did a Scooby themed party for Brie here} But she was dead set on Scooby Doo!! Which is all good....because we all love Scooby around here. Every little girl of mine has been obsessed with the Scooby cartoons and movies at one point or another.
So here's our throw back to the 70's
and our mini Velma!!!
On the menu....
Because the Scooby Gang were often at the malt shop
we made chocolate milkshakes......
and had the infamous hoagie sandwiches that Shaggy and Scooby
were always scarfing down...
The decor was fun to put together and I mainly used stuff that I already had.
To make the backboard I used an old Scooby Doo puzzle, wrapping paper I had kicking around, printed out little Scooby's and added pom poms that I purchased at the craft store.
I found the dog bowl, orange polka dot glasses and cups at the dollar store...
Emma wore this Velma costume when she was four back in '02...
when we were the Scooby Doo gang for Halloween...
Used old card game pieces for cupcake toppers.
The colored plates I got at Walmart and added a printable to the top of them..
The gifts!
Four of Kate's favorite things...princesses, polly pockets, Caillou and Scooby..
*****
This time of year we go from one birthday to the next!
Daddy had a birthday a few days before Kate.
For him we celebrated James Bond style, giving him the 50 year Bond Collection.
He saw a shirt for a little girl the other day that said,
"I'm a princess, Mom is the queen, and dad is around here somewhere!" haha.
He got a kick out of that.
{I think he feels that way X5 around here!} We love you Dad!!
Kate and Daddy shared a birthday cake at the family dinner on Sunday!
Kate's birthday dress!
Evidence of a toddler in the house. The red lipstick missed her mouth apparently.
Kyleigh wore this little dance leotard so it had been around forever...
had to throw it in the trash. :(
Kate's three favorite things{still}....
her baby{blankie}, baa baa {sippie cup} and no clothes...
we come home from somewhere, clothes are stripped off, hair rubbies and bows out!
She just might be our first singer. She will randomly burst out singing song lyrics from various songs. It cracks us up. She also is my first left-handed kid. She has a habit of making this particular sound in her mouth when she thinks something is funny or when she gets embarrassed. She recites conversations to me that she's had with grandma. She loves huts made out of chairs and blankets, she enjoys making concoctions with water, soap, salt etc...and having the board games down just to play with the game pieces. She loves to look at the cards in the card section at the store, she has a fear of elevators and escalators. {I have to hold her.} She loves milk, puffed Cheetos, strawberries, pistachio nuts, ketchup and fries, diced peaches, vanilla creme cones and york peppermint patties. She is getting better at it but she doesn't pronounce V's properly. It's so cute! Like drive is dribe, t.v....t.b. and love.. lub. And for whatever reason she pronounces fingers..negers.. And one of my recent personal favorites...We go through this ritual when I leave the house {as if I'm going away for two weeks or something..} I love you, I love you so much..repeated several times over and over from both of us.
LOVE THIS GIRL!
