Kyleigh in Korea
mission update-week 56
Hey everyone! I don't have time to write much of a weekly email! But I'll send some fun pics :)
We might have finally found someone! We met a lady at the bus stop. Very sweet and kind. She kept asking us questions and was willing to listen. She really liked what we had to say and would like to meet with us again. We've been here 11 weeks and we have not met anyone that is interested in religion....just in learning English. I was so excited!! We've contacted her and she wants us to come to her house next week. I've really been praying for her, that she'll have an open heart and mind and that she'll be willing to even listen to the discussions. My worry is that she does attend another church and her husband went to school to study the New Testament. He is very knowledgable about the Bible. Keep her in your prayers. Her name is Hong So Yen. I really hope this is what we've been waiting for in this area because it has been so dry for Sisters and Elders. There has been no one. No one.
The Bishop's daughter:) She is Kate's age!
We went out to the countryside to see if we could find some new people to teach...no luck :)
We had P-day with the other area in our district. We played soccer bowling. So fun. It was super intense and competitive. My favorite treat, Bing Su, was on the line. Game On People!

Email from Kyleigh's companion..
Dearest wonderful friends and family,
I am very grateful to those of you who heeded my words of shame upon all things and wrote me. May the blessings be sprinkled upon thine head.
Now. For this week.
Well it has been confirmed by several different Koreans (random ones on the street we talk to and members in the ward) that I have a peaceful face. I am not sure exactly what that means entirely but I will take it as a complement. We were doing English Jundo (or Proselyting) and we were talking to people on the street and there was this guy who I started talking to and he worked in an international bar (which is how he knew so much English) and we talked for a bit and he thought I was from Canada and could not believe I was American... Anywho, he left and then he walked passed again later and started talking to me again and was like "you know what your face looks really peaceful." I was so confused by that statement. But I accepted it. Then yesterday during Gospel Principle we were talking about talents and gifts and someone was like "your face looks peaceful" and everyone was just nodding in agreement. So there you have it folks! I have a peaceful face.😬
I personally think it is because I am so tired that my face is just so still and I am waaaay to lazy to put my little energy to move it. Also I have no idea what is going on most days so I am usually half way between falling asleep and my brain lighting on fire. But you know, it is whatevs, I have a peaceful face.
Next is the Bishop's son... This child is THE cutest thing ever. Like. I just can't. It is all too much!!! (attached is his picture).
The couple for North Carolina (the Needhams) took a bus to Busan to go to Costco and bought us missionaries Peanut Butter. Bless them. Bless Costco that it may continue to rule and reign and Bless Peanut Butter. For it is so very delicious.
My companion and I have been working hard to find people. Yesterday (Sunday) we went to apartment buildings to knock on doors (or in Korean Cacahoho). It is all very stressful. But we survived. I think when I am done with me mission I will truly finish my training as a personal stalker... I can find their dead families and now I am figuring out how to stalk the living. Prepare thine-selves world! Sister Cordero is coming for you!
Anyway, we also went to the countryside to find more people. Not many humans, but a lot of rice fields. (picture attached!)
That is all I have the time for this week folks! Hope your week is great! This week is the last of the transfer so I should have more news for you next week!
Love you all,
Sister Cordero 🤓
Also picture of me with B1A4 Pizza box (proof of me living and eating)!

In other family news this week....
Seminary Recognition Night
Emmsie and these other Senior girls in our ward graduated from Seminary!
Seminary these days is no automatic A just for 'showing up' to class.
You have to pass two assessment tests each year and do the required reading to get a certificate of completion. This year they studied the Old Testament. You go girls!
This is another one of those kids that Emmsie has known since the first grade...
{He just cut off his Fabio hair. To go to BYU. This dude had some good-look'in locks...}
*****Sweet 16!
After Seminary Graduation, me and Emmsie and some girlfriends of Hannah's pulled off quite the surprise for Hannah on the eve of her 16th birthday. We arranged for 16 boys to come to the house to give her a red rose. {saw the idea on line} Sounds so simple, but it was quite the production.
We had the little 4 yr old neighbor boy go first. He even serenaded her with a birthday song!!.. It melted all our hearts. She thought it was the sweetest thing ever.
watch Owen singing...
{The boys were congregated in the church parking lot near our home with one of Hannah's girlfriends.. who was sending them over every few minutes with a rose.}
A few minutes after Owen left, her friend, Bryan, showed up at the door......
Hannah was so flipp'in confused and was wondering what in the heck was going on...
IT WAS GREAT!
I was hiding on the porch.... so that the boys would know they were coming to the right house.
And... to take pictures.
;)
This handsome kid gave me the thumbs up!
{hilarious}
{And ...If you want some insider info...hahaha. Hayden just barely turned 16 too...later that night he asked her on a date...her very first official {non-dance} date.
To go mountain biking this week. Cute or what? }
These are the three neighbor brothers she gets a kick out of and loves to tease!
They came as one- with a rose.
Joshyyy!
Josh even brought his cousin. bahaha
Her Star Wars Jedi buddy...
A couple boys even brought cards. Can you even?
Thor and Hannah have known each other since pre-school!
She knows a couple of Isaac's..he's the 1950's Isaac. ;)
Buddy Merrick got all dressed up for the occasion.
{Everyone and their dog loves this kid.}
Can you see Emma in the back ground?
Her sophomore crush right here in the flesh.
This kid Doug is hilarious!
Soren!
Our back fence is broken cuz of him..haha
The boys just kept com'in..some had to double up cuz we had more than we needed...haha
Carter and Porter!
Hannah will you accept this Rose?
Each door approach was just too cute!
Alex!
Ashton and McKade!
Hannah LOVES Prince Kit from Cinderella.
So he, and Daddy, gave her the last rose!
It just really warmed my heart that these boys would come and do this for her.
Great bunch of boys.
Who knew she had so many guy friends?...As quiet and reserved as she is, she barely said boo to boys a year ago...she has slowly blossomed into quite the little social butterfly...
It's been fun to observe from the sidelines.
They stayed for donuts and ice cream and then don't ask what was all going on after that...
I do know they blocked Doug's car in the church parking lot.
{The noise and commotion!}
I'm sure our elderly neighbors were wondering what on earth...
Have to say it was the best pull off surprise of mine and Emma's life.
Such a fun evening for us.
Even more so for Hannah.
I think she was floating on air. So happy. and grateful.

Birthday Girl!
Her birthday morn came early
Up and gone for drill practice.....at 5:40!
Gift time after!
Hannah wanted to get her ears pierced {for the first time!} for one of her gifts.
She had an allergy to metal when she was little so we have just avoided the whole ear piercing thing until now. :)
My sweet Hannie. I love her so. If I had to describe her in one word, it would be CHILL...So easy going, calm, quiet, unassuming, your typical middle child. Gets along with everyone. One of my favorite things to do with her is go through her yearbook at the end of the school year. It's tradition. She'll tell me about her classmates..little tidbits about people she knows and doesn't know.
It's enlightening. haha
Oh and she's quite the artist!
*****
St. Geezy!
On Hannah's birthday we headed to St. George for a little get-away.
Birthday lunch!
We go to St. George for one reason.
Tuacahn.
Seeing the Broadway Musicals there is one of our favorite things to do in the summer.
And next year is the Newsies and Mama Mia!
Two of our very fav's.
And Kyleigh will be back with us. YES!!!

Peter Pan is like one of Hannah's Disney fav's.
It just happened to be playing the night of her birthday. ;)
The red rock setting is spectacular!
The shows don't start till 8:45 at night... when the weather has cooled off a bit!
{Thank goodness}
I think it was 107 one of the days we were there.
Cousins were there the first night!
A late late night pic with my birthday girl!
We had some pool time....
and some good eats
{excellent BBQ meat btw!}
and more Tuacahn
The second night we saw Tarzan. Which we liked even better than Peter Pan.
A little romance is always nice. ;)
little photo bomber!
*****
I accidentally killed a bird on the way home...awe! darn it. :( I love birds!
Got home in time for Hannah and Dad to get packed, prepped and off to Youth Conference.
Capture the Flag!
Captain Moroni Style
Hannah's team was victorious!
*****
While dad and Hannie were away the other girls and I had a little fun ourselves....
Went on a little Asian outing...for Sushi and to see Kung Fu Panda 3.
People! The Oh Roll at Cafe Seoul is the bomb!
But, I have to say my favorite food find this week- besides the BBQ meat and beans in St. George-is this beet hummus!
Gosh IT IS good. Found it at Macey's.
Until next week!
