Celebrating the Queen!
If you want to feel like you
are in England for a hot minute...
you gotta go here.
In Layton.
In Layton.
One of the best meals I've had of late.
Shepherd's pie, authentic fish and chips,
Shepherd's pie, authentic fish and chips,
mushy peas {sounds sooo disgusting,
but oh not so!}
THE sticky toffee steamed
pudding & custard....
I could live on that stuff.
Hands down one of my favorite desserts.
They even have a store in the restaurant where they sell British goodies...
had ourselves a farewell to
THE QUEEN party.
Oh.... THE QUEEN!!!!!....
I have such respect and admiration for her.
She was so constant, loyal and steadfast.
For 70 freaking years!
Full of honor, integrity and a sense of
enduring duty...
putting service before self.
Such devotion to her country, family and
to her deep faith in Jesus Christ.
She was the most famous woman in the world,
yet didn't seek
celebrity or the limelight.
Quite remarkable.
There will never be another like her.
Four daughters and I got up
in the wee hours of the
morning to watch the funeral.
I personally watched 6+ hours of coverage.
Loved every minute!
THE pomp and pageantry......
so grandeur and majestic!!!
Every single thing was steeped in history
and done with such
dignity, class, precision,
and reverence.

In other family news....
Brie had a jam packed
Homecoming week...
that included all sorts of stuff...
student government responsibilities,
decorating the plaza, de-thorning roses,
brav'ing the school rooftop, as well as...
PowderPuff!
Spartan Spectacular!tailgating, Friday night lights, football
AND us Super Seniors! haha.....
Go Spartans!!!
The hubs was such a good sport and put on
his old letterman's jacket from 37 years ago...
just long enough to capture
a few family photos.
The homecoming festivities ended
with the Hoco Dance
on Saturday night....
of boating in East Canyon, sunburn,
exhaustion, and a tearful dress fiasco
in the 11hour...
OOOF...not fun!
BUT looky how beautiful
it all turned out!
Thanks to her team of helpers....
Especially sister Emmsie,
who came to the dress rescue.
😅
Brie went with her good buddy, Mitt.We had some major boutonniere probs too...for their Tangled...
"Now I See the Light" theme.

In food yumminess...

as it was ALSO parent teacher conferences

The hubs homemade bruschetta...
AND lunch out for yummy sushi
with an out of town friend I haven't seen in
the flesh in almost 5 years!!

In feel good news....
My beloved sister has been sick for almost
two years with end stage renal disease.
She was finally eligible to be put on
the transplant list on the 8th of this month.
She expected to wait 6-12 months
until a kidney was available.
She got a call only 12 days later that
they had a kidney match!!!
On the way home from the hospital,
ONLY 3 days after surgery,
she stopped by to wave to my mom,
and to let her know how well she was doing.
I caught their so sweet
-from the hallway- interaction
as my sister can't be out & about, or around
too many humans for 6 weeks as she recovers.
Miracles happen.
My mama and I so enjoyed
watching this series together recently.
We'd both seen it before, but it had been years.
It's just one of those GOOD ones
that makes the heart and soul happy
by watching.
Dorcus Lane, the head postmistress
in Candleford, will always be one of
my all time favorite film characters.
She made me wish I could have worked
in a late 19th century post office. lol
