Back to School...

I swear school is starting earlier
every year.
π
Looky who's a Senior!!!
Fun tradition at Murray High...
Sr. Sunrise
that B helped with behind the scenes...
{just some minor drama leading up to it is all...haha
non hiker(s), steep hills, 9 boxes of donuts,
and a table... = concerned parent,
therefore got lots of prayers roll'in.}
ππ
Saturday morning Ensign Peak hike...
B with the other Sr. Class officers...and friends...
**********
Kate has officially entered
"the armpit of your life" years...
π
Hello 7th grade!!
B is such a good sister and came to
back to school night with us so she could
help Kate familiarize herself with the
junior high school.
Finding her classes and
getting her locker open and such.
Kate's lucky to go to school in such a nice building.
First day Red Carpet welcome
lined with administrators, teachers and officers.
Love how they try to make
the first day special
for these kiddos.
OF COURSE we had to watch this in honor
of Kate starting Junior High!!!..
"I'm not pooping til highschool"...LOL
Since 7th graders started a day earlierthan the 8th and 9th graders..Kate had
Monday off {cuz she started Friday}
so we took her to breakfast Monday morn.
Have you tried the dulce de leche pancakes
from IHOP??? Ya gotta.
Yum Yum.
tradition at our house. Did you
know most countries have a
siesta or break
in the afternoon to rest
and reconnect?
Too bad we don't have that tradition
here in America.
Us Cooper girls think we should...
so we are gonna start our
own version of siesta with "tea time"
every afternoon on school days at 3:15.
hear them "spill the tea"
about their time at school
while we eat whatever...
milk and Oreos, apple juice
with crackers & tuna.
One day it was ham fried rice
and sparkling water...
basically whatever suits our fancy.
I've always LOVED hearing about the details
of my girl's school days,
so that part is nothing new!
We are just enhancing the experience.
Some days we even throw in
a game of Nertz after.
Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven...
A reminder to not
hide your "light" under a haystack...oops I mean bushel.
π
bridal shower at a lady's house
in our ward.
Off to Girl's Camp!
The girls had young women's camp really late this summer. It ended just a few
days before school started for Kate.
It was Kate's first time at camp.
She survived. Only because
Brie was there too! Ha! I'm so
glad these two are such good buddies.
Some of us hiked Ensign Peak
prepping for said hike
mentioned earlier.
π
Chinese checkers has been a go to favorite
this summer....
We even got my mama playing...
Brie's latest drawings....
Emmsie threw a fun happy unbirthday party
for the activity day girls in our ward!
Kyleigh recently got THIS back...
her wedding bouquet!
Preserved nicely in a keepsake frame
from Pressed Floral in Orem.

In food news....
The latest Kate in the Kitchen creations...
she's made homemade rosemary butter
blue cookies and meringue! Apparently it's Percy Jackson's
bday today so she and her sisters
are having a Percy Jackson movie
watch'in celebration, eating these
blue cookies (from the books) and the pink
pretend lotus flowers (from that one
Poker Face music scene in the movie.)
a Mexican restaurant in West Valley.
The Tacos de Birria con Consome were a hit!
Pastries from the Farmer's Market.
Oh so good!!!
The back to school treat
we gave the kiddos in Primary...

*****************************and lastly,
One of my favorite watches of late....
Some parts I really loved {especially the
costuming, music and scenery.}
Other aspects of the movie where they
try modernizing things....not so much.
The two older versions
of Persuasion are much better, but it
was still an enjoyable watch.
