Bonjour!

Bonjour!
I’m a 51 year old mother of five amazing daughters and wife to a caring, sensitive AND sexy husband. I adore my family. I’m dedicated to my faith. I enjoy a good laugh. I'm nostalgic and love to reminisce. "Remember" is my favorite word in the English language. I love life! I’m passionate about music, food and {dreams of} traveling the world. I wanna be a castle and waterfall chaser. I’m fascinated with anything European. {PARIS! Hello!} I love celebrating anything and everything! I love to read, especially a good biography, mystery, Regency Era Romance or Historical fiction novel. I love thoughtful gift giving. To me the gift wrap is almost as important as the gift itself. I have a bit of an obsession with gift boxes and gift bags. As well as old world maps & globes, apothecary bottles and jars! I love being creative…bolts of ribbon, coordinating scrapbook papers, producing a table scape, or planning décor for a themed party puts a smile on my face. I love the details! I’m a freak for anything theme oriented. I enjoy event planning, but oddly enough do not like to host or entertain. I enjoy fashion, but have to really be in the mood to clothes shop. I love purses and funky costume jewelry. Especially big rings! I’d rather wear wedges or heels any day than flats. I enjoy decorating and searching for the perfect decorative pillow or picture. However, you’ll never see me frequent high-end stores. I'm more of a Ross, TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning kind of gal. My favorite decor style is an old world rustic Italian chateau/Spanish Villa look with a hint of bohemian! OR a vintage shabby chic French country cottage/English cobblestone farmhouse. My #1 cookie-Molasses! Autumn is my favorite season. I’d go through childbirth a million times. I enjoy biking with my man, Pilates, and power walking. You’ll never find me in a gym working out. I love movies, whether watching them in the theatre or cuddled up on the couch with my family. I enjoy a good chick flick or real life drama! I'm a sucker for movies on the Hallmark & Great American Family Channel. I have a tender heart for the elderly. I adore Disneyland. I enjoy being in the canyon on a summer or fall evening at dusk. I love my friends. While I have some extroverted characteristics. I’m a self proclaimed introvert. I’m generally quiet, calm, reserved and pretty darn private. Why in the heck do I blog? It’s a creative way to record family history. I enjoy photography. I really don’t like to write, although I write in my journal often. My journals, patriarchal blessing, scriptures, quote book, and beloved Christmas tree filled with ornaments of family memories are among my prized possessions. I love the beach. I enjoy WWII history. I love a clean, orderly house, but ours usually looks lived in. ;) PBS Masterpiece is my friend. I adore Jane Austen films. They transport me to another time and place. If I had to choose another time period in which to live, early 19th Century England would be my pick. "Sense and Sensibility" is my all time favorite movie. My 3 favorite TV series are...BBC's Larkrise to Candleford, the 1950's Spanish Drama "Velvet," and the travel/food show "Somebody Feed Phil." My biggest pet peeve is people who blow their noses in public. So gross! {Take it to the bathroom people.} I’d go on a wine tasting vacation if it wasn’t against my religion. I’ve always wanted to adopt a baby from a foreign country. I’m an avid BYU football fan. I'm a Educational Support Professional. I tutor elementary kids in phonemic awareness, phonics, reading, fluency and comprehension. I love our campfires at Scofield Lake. I have a 'thing' for fairy gardens, Gallic French roosters, fresh flowers in a vase, pretty bowls & plates, and yummy smelling candles & soap. I love summer rainstorms and warm baths. I'm a scripture podcast fanatic. I'm also a fan of several Fox News shows; Hannity and Dave Ramsey Talk Radio. I very much miss Rush Limbaugh! I hate when my kids have homework. I'd rather clean 20 toilets than give a talk or prayer in church. I have quite a collection of Madame Alexander Dolls, children's books, Disney pins, and quotes. My favorite quote is "Don't underestimate me. I know more than I say, think more than I speak & notice more than you realize." True True LOL! I always prefer sitting in a back row versus the front. {I'm sort of a seat snob..yikes} I also have high expectations for my lemonade, salsa, and french fries too. HA! I work well behind the scenes. I love a good Dateline, 20/20 or 48 Hour Mystery. I’m a night owl. I'd rather be cold than hot. I love to budget our finances! I enjoy being a chauffeur to my children. I'm not a huge fan of social media. I don't snap, pin or tweet. All I want for Christmas every year is a ticket to the Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. It's my FAVORITE. I’m an Anglophile…a royal watcher who loves anything English! Especially tea parties! I would like to serve a church mission to England with Jaren someday. I'm queen of paper towel, used kitchen dishrags and sponges kinda make me squirm. You’ll rarely find me out of the house not ready for the day, except when driving the kids to school on the days I don't work. I feel naked without lipstick or lip gloss. Mismatched socks, chipped fingernail polish, chapped lips and brownie crumbs on the floor drive me nuts! I like to organize and BE organized..but not saying I always am. ;) I enjoy hiking to waterfalls, ATV’ing with my family and snowshoeing with the hubs. Although I enjoy collecting recipes and occasionally watch cooking shows... (Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade, Paula Deen, Jamie Oliver, and the Pioneer Woman are my favorites) I’d rather not cook. Eating out is so much more fun. I'm a foodie. I live to EAT! LOL Trying new foods and restaurants is a favorite past-time, and believe it or not so is intermittent fasting. I'm not good at a lot of things... but gosh, if you need help with a themed celebration or someone to enjoy good food with, I'm your girl. I love the joy of anticipation and the celebration of holidays. Family traditions are important to me. I'm a memory preserver. I'm a pathological picture taker ;) a visual storyteller, and a lover of happy lists!

What's On My Happy List?

Kyleigh Mission Week 15

Hello Everyone!!

Monday August 17, 2015
Yet another fabulous Pday. Went to the Downtown shopping center for lunch with the Elders because we are pretty sure one of them will get transferred. We also took sticker pictures. They have a place where you can go and take photo booth type pictures and they print off as stickers! At FHE we played battleship.

Tuesday August 18, 2015
Met a member at a restaurant for lunch. Had our weekly MCM. We have a new Ward Mission Leader now. He was the previous Bishop that got released the first Sunday I was here.

Wednesday August 19, 2015
Six months ago from today I opened my mission call and found out that I would be spending a year and a half of my life in Korea. Taught an investigator about the importance of the Book of Mormon. It's been like a month since we were able to meet. The Bishop and his wife brought us groceries. Super sweet of them! Our electricity went out in our kitchen so we had to move our fridge closer to our study room to plug it in so our food wouldn't go bad! Hilarious!

Thursday August 20, 2015
We had District Meeting at the Senior Missionary Couple's home. Brother and Sister Kelly have been serving in the area next to ours in the English Speaking Military branch. They are so nice. They actually head home in a few days. Sister Kelly made us lunch. I didn't realize how much I missed home cooked AMERICAN meals! We went to a less actives house for dinner.

Friday August 21, 2015
It was my companion Sister Park's birthday! She turned 25 in American age, but she is 26 in Korean age. We ordered food with the Elders and ate lunch at the church and she opened the presents we got her. She loves Hello Kitty so we got her some cute Hello Kitty things. We ate dinner with a member at a buffet restaurant.

Saturday August 22, 2015
We didn't have any lessons to teach so we did Weekly Planning. We had English Class and I gave the spiritual thought.

Sunday August 23, 2015
I spoke in Sacrament Meeting about why I decided to serve a mission. We met with my favorite less active for the last time. She leaves for the States next weekend. We went to a member's house and she taught our less active how to make a special Korean dish. It was fun!

I hope everyone is doing well! Good luck to those who started school!! You got this :) Love you all!!

Love,
Sister Kyleigh Cooper

In other family news this week....
We had a little family history day...The fam and g-ma C. went on a little day trip to Elberta, Goshen and Genola to show the kids where she and grandpa grew up. We were able to see her childhood home and visit her parent's graves.

We ate at a restaurant called Family Tree. Apparently the place is haunted and the ghost hunters have visited the place....sorta creepy. haha

Not only are they known for ghosts, but for their scones.....
you can see why ;)

Great Aunt Jill joined us for lunch and we looked at old family pictures of grandma and her sisters growing up..

Made a stop at the old red barn in Santaquin...

We were able to drive by the new Payson Temple. GORGEOUS!!!

and pick raspberries in Aunt Jill's garden....

Girls finished up their summer volunteering...
Last time for Emma as a Jr. volunteer.  :(

They received a really nice sports watch as a thank you gift...

Back To School!
Emma started her Senior Year. Say What?!
I hope she survives her schedule..it's a little daunting...

10th grader!
Hannah started High School!
She had early morn drill at 6am on the first day. She's a trooper! Her practices alternate between early morn and after school practices. So on the days she has morning drill she has to take her outfit and mini bathroom with her and get ready at school. Ewe!

Brie started 5th grade!
She loves her teacher!

She got super lucky and got four of her best friends in her class again.

Even though she is in the big leagues now at her school...she still wants me to walk her to the play ground to where her class meets on the first day...love that!

Kate has had a nasty cough, cold, pink eye this past week. Gee you'd think it was the dead of winter! Good thing she doesn't start Kindergarten until next week.... She would have been too sick to go if she had started same day as the big kids. I'm telling you it's never dull around here.

Shortly after the older kids got off to school that first day.. Kate kinda passed out on me for a few seconds...at least I think that's what happened. Whatever it was caused a few frantic moments for this mama. SO scary! Her coloring was AWFUL! I took her back to the doctor for the second time this week. They did an EKG to check her heart. Both that and her blood pressure were just fine. That was excellent news to hear. Not really sure what caused her to pass out, but the doctor thinks maybe her blood sugar was low and just a culmination of her being sick, weak, and light headed from just waking up.. etc. Not sure if she had a reaction to cough/cold med she had had the night before??? But boy never touching that stuff again. The cough is still lingering, but she is doing much better.....

She got to meet her teacher this week! She is so excited to start school.

Picking the high schoolers up!
Emma's car was in the shop so she couldn't even drive to school on the first day... so mom and pop were on chauffeur duty.. She was loving that.. being a Senior and all.
Anything is better than riding the bus though, right? ;)

Whipped these babies up to welcome the kiddos home...
They love these chocolate chip cookies!
I always enjoy getting the low down on how things went for them on their first day back.
Hilarious!
Everyone is alive ;)

We had a little back to school inspired dinner for FHE. Got the idea from

This quote from President Uchtdorf is our motto for the school year!

Let us...Lettuce..get it? ;)

We ordered Papa John's Pizza, our fav...

and watched PRESIDENT UCHTDORF's MESSAGE

My niece is getting married!!!
She is a sweetheart!
My sisters and I threw a bridal shower for her.

This stool was my inspiration piece. Found it for a steal at Ross. Bought a few items at the craft store, but for the most part just tried to use stuff I had around the house. :)

I found this printable on etsy from heartsandcraftsy...
{I added the ribbon and colored the white letters creme and hung from twine}

Found at Sam's Club...
French Macarons

My sisters and other family members did the food. SUPER yummy!

Was a little sad, as always, to see the summer come to an end this week....Sniff! Gonna miss sleeping in. I know that for sure...

So with a reluctant goodbye to those relaxing dog days of summer...
I'll end with our 2015 summer jam...
