We had English tea cakes and cookies, cucumber and chive sandwiches, crackers with ham & cheese, strawberries & blueberries with cream, and meatballs. {the secret to the best meatballs is crock pot them with grape jelly and your favorite BBQ sauce} Yum! I was able to use the blue and white dishware that I was lucky enough to be given after a little old lady in our ward passed away.
They take these tea parties seriously!!!
If the life jackets weren't up at Scofield I so would have insisted on a
photo with those on too.
That was dad's idea. Cracks me up!
After we ate I read the Magic Tree House Titanic Research Guide to Hannah and Brie. It is such an interesting read, we finished it in one sitting in less than an hour. We continued on in the theme of things with playing the classic Titanic game and watching the movie...shed a few tears and sweet little Kate tried to wipe them away...
Other Random Happy Things....My Mom turned 80! She is the sweetest lady.. Oh how I love her! My siblings and I and our spouses all took her and Dad to dinner and then 40+ family members gathered at the house after for cake and ice cream....that place was bursting at the seams...
The Relief Society Birthday Celebration! Someone on the committee had old RS magazines of her mothers and grandmothers. The one on the cake is a replica of one from 1932.
Spring Break!
Love this time of year.
Just a few things we've been up to.... Another round of CHOPPED for Emma and Hannah. The whole idea is cooking with a crazy ingredient in each course and making it edible. The appetizer had to include Roka Blue Spread and radishes...The main meal... eggplant and Sweet and Sour Sauce, the Dessert...Chocolate Almond Soy milk and mandarin oranges...It's always so much fun to see what they come up with. I love that they enjoy spending time in the kitchen.
Emma and I along with my girlfriend and her daughter went to the midnight showing of Hunger Games. Kyleigh went with girlfriends. I think it was 3:30 before I crawled into bed. CRAZY! Not sure I'd loose sleep again over that movie. Strange. Strange. Not my kind of show, but my oldest two are loving the books.
One Direction. Guess who is coming to North America on their very own tour? Those British Boys!!! {We've got some happy girls in this house.} And guess who scored tickets to their Vegas show in June? Me, two of my girlfriends and 9 tween/teenagers! We were in charge of getting all the tickets and I must say it was a frantic few moments for us on the computer not knowing how fast it would sell out, but we succeeded. Whoot!
Corner Bakery with girlfriends, Movie nights, ABCmouse.com, and Jump rope competition with the girls...
sweet flowers left on the porch for a sick girl.
Emma's Rube Goldberg Science Project... Dad put it to video. He is the bomb!
