End of School Splash!
The last day of school! A cause for celebration with all things "S"
Sno Cones...Slip n Slide...Silly Snap Shots... Shaving Cream fight... and Swimming. This was our invite to the neighbor kids along with a hula hoop..."HOOP'IN" they could join us...
The prizes and sweets all started with "S"...silly string, sandals, Swedish fish etc...
I set up a little photo backdrop where we took silly snap shots...

Slip n Slide
Two batting games that caused a SPLASH...this one is harder than it looks. It took multiple whacks to pop these non water balloons filled with water...
we had a bucket of small water balloons that they used to pitch and hit instead of a baseball....
Spinning competition with the hula hoops...
Oh gosh! The Shaving Cream!...best part of the party for sure...
Our first ever {and not our last} neighborhood Shaving Cream fight.
The kids loved it!
I love this of Hannah and Emma running for their lives....
The older girls started shaving with razors...gee why not....
You should have seen the front lawn when it was all said and done. What a mess! But totally worth it!!! They all looked like ghosts heading down to the neighbor's pool to swim....
End of School always brings mixed emotions at our house. We always say when we are in the thick of the school routine that we can't wait til summer break, but when it's finally here, although a huge relief, it is a tich sad. I had a couple girls choked up.
Kyleigh loved her first year of high school, but was so ready for the school work to be over. She had some hard classes! Every end of the semester and report card time...suspense. She is so turbo about her grades but it was always in question if she would keep her 4.0 grade point average. French 3 was her nemesis. Luckily one of her guy friends, Blake, is super duper smart and would come over and help her with her Math and French. We even had a man in our ward, who was a former Mission President in France, tutor her a few times towards the end of the year. It helped. I don't know how she did it, but she eked out ALL A's.. all year. Very impressive. And was never marked tardy. miracle. This girl likes to push it to the last possible minute. Trust me I know. I was the one speedily driving her to school every morning after we gave up on the bus thing back in December. What a kick!
Call me crazy but I'm seriously going to miss my little morning routine taking Kyleigh to the High School and whipping back home to pick up Emmsie {and sometimes the hilarious, frantic neighbor girl who missed the bus}, and driving them to the Junior High. You count the third run I would make every school morning to the elementary school and I had quite the taxi service going on. But I honestly loved it. I'll miss my morning ritual of praying in the car with my girls. It often gave me a chance to pray individually for them and the specific things that they needed the Lords help with that day. Yep, I'd pray right out loud as I drove with each separate school run. Not your standard way to pray, but if anything it's taught my girls you can pray anytime, anywhere.
Emmsie home from another 8th grade end of year swim party....She was the most excited out of all my girls to see the end of the year come. Ya all know what Junior High is like. Yep, awkward. She can't stand it. She is so conscientious about her grades though...and rocked it again this year...All A's.
My Hannah Banana!
Graduated from the 6th grade.
Here she is at promotion with her teacher, Ms. Allred.
She is superb!
My oldest three have all had her and loved 6th grade.
Little Brie was a tad sentimental about the last day of school too.
She had a fantastic 1st grade year!
She loved her teacher and her teacher's dog, Norman, who would come to visit the classroom.
Her favorite subject is Math!
She had oodles of "E's"... that is E for Excellent on her report card.
An easy peasy end of year teacher gift idea.
All the ingredients to have campfire s'mores!
Both Brie and Hannah's teachers love to camp.
