Turkey day at our house!
My favorite time of the yearwith my favorite humans
and furry friends...
Walter made his debut on our
Thanksgiving breakfast table!
We used Reese's Pieces candy
to represent our 5 kernels of corn
and the bugle chips were the mini
cornucopia's...
😉
It's always a delight hearing everyone's
5 things
that they are grateful for!
The Poppi knocked it out of the park
with the cinnamon rolls this year.
I came across this picture
from Thanksgiving 2004!
I can see kernels of corn
on the plates...so looks
like we were doing our
"thankful breakfast" even back then.
😂
18 years and counting....
We watched some of the with the hubs family that afternoon.
The cousins made these cute turkeys...
The cousins made these cute turkeys...
We usually go to a movie on Thanksgiving night
but there wasn't one we were really
interested in seeing.
We stayed at home and watched the
Thanksgiving movie
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
and I finished decorating the tree.
*****
The day after Thanksgiving
it's tradition for us to go to
Christmas in Color!
We took my parents with us this year.
They were celebrating their
Wedding Anniversary that day!
66 YEARS!!!
How awesome is THAT?
*****
In food news....
A sweet neighbor brought
this box of yumminess to us.
We had a good 'ole home cooked meal for
dinner group this month.
The hubs mac 'n cheese and okra
were the bomb diggity.
We topped it off with a slice of pecan pie.
Which is a favorite of mine...
but whoa I'd never tried chocolate pecan pie before!
So delicious!
*****In dog life...
Mr. Bingley just hang'in....
I'll tend this guy any time...
How sweet is this?
I wish you could see the
big black blob of cuteness
{Mr. Darcy}
chill'in by the tree!
Hoping he won't destroy the nativity...haha..
One week in...so far so good.
*****
In other random....
I was able to get the front room tree done
a couple nights before Thanksgiving.
Gotta say I'm so glad the trees are DONE!
😅
I love them SO SO much...like they are
in the TOP THREE of my
favorite things about Christmas.
BUT no one really enjoys
decorating them. Even me.
Getting them fluffed and lights put on
drives me bonkers!
NONE of the lights worked on our pre-lit one.
UGH!
{Can't even think about taking them down
in 6 weeks.
Cuz that is even worse than
putting up! haha}
We celebrated Dec. 1st with advent calendars
and peppermint chip shakes
from the Chic-fil-A.
Kate and I have been enjoying watching
this together on the Food Network!
And then.... I was just in heaven watching thisalong with an old Sinatra, Dean Martin Christmas
special on PBS. I adore the old classic Christmas songs
so much!!!
The ones sung by Andy Williams, Perry Como,
Bing Crosby, Johnny Mathis, and Karen Carpenter etc...
Gosh. It doesn't get any better than those.
