Kyleigh In Korea
mission update week 39
We had transfers but I'm staying and so is my companion. We will be together for at least another 6 weeks. We're excited! They got rid of our transfer meetings. {where all the missionaries would go to the mission home every six weeks.} We were one of the only missions to do transfer conferences. Word came down from Elder Oaks that they don't want us doing them anymore. So we will no longer be going to the mission home on any transfer Mondays. Which means I probably wont be back to the mission home until Sept for the mission 5k, which is crazy unless we have some special meeting. I won't get to see my missionary friends as much, especially before they head home, which is kinda sad. But this new way is the way they do it around the world so if all the other missionaries do it we can do it too. The zone leaders are now in charge of getting everyone where they are supposed to be on transfer day. It will be an adjustment.
I'm excited to start this new transfer. Should be interesting. Our district is huge. My companion's goal this transfer is to help elevate my Korean ;). I really do like this area, but it's kind of dying right now. Every area has it's up and downs. We've been losing a lot of investigators. It's time to find some new ones. We have some ideas on how to get some...but we are waiting because it's their holiday right now. It's Solar... Chinese New Year! EVERYONE is like super busy and with family. People started celebrating Saturday and it doesn't end until Wednesday. So we are doing "office work" and getting proselyting things ready to go.
I love you all very much.
Have a really Happy Valentines Day!
Love,
Sister Cooper
My comp really wanted to make me feel good on my birthday. She kept telling me happy birthday and wanted to make sure I got a cake. We made birthday party hats.
She's a really good friend. I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve with her.
I got a lot of phone calls from missionary friends.
With permission we can call each other on our birthdays.
special birthday soup
We went out to lunch and dinner with ward members.
Super stoked about my Star Wars birthday cake!

Kyleigh had a birthday!
Which means I've been a mother for 20 years.
My heck!
You better believe we celebrated.. even if she is half away across the world.
We tried a new Korean BBQ place called Bumblebee's.
The bulgogi and Korean sweet pork were de-lish!
curry balls!
Kyleigh LOVES donuts so we celebrated with Beyond Glazed instead of birthday cake. ;)
How does one choose which kind to get?
{good grief!}
Kate was insistent we light up a candle in honor of Kyleigh!
We lit up some ice cream ;)

Next night was a little Mardi Gras celebration with King Cake and cajun jambalaya sauce over kielbasa and rice.
How in the world does baby Jesus tie into Mardi Gras one may ask?
Read up on the King Cake Tradition.
{thank you Harmon's store display}
