Who doesn't love cereal?!?
I threw the easiest darn party last week for the girls and their friends in the neighborhood. We invited them for dinner and we had a cereal party! Oh so fun and yummy! I personally am a huge cereal lover {I love all kinds} but I prefer the healthy. High fiber oatmeal in the mornings is a staple for me. But I knew that stuff wouldn't cut it at a par-tay! I filled 9 bucketfuls {buckets found at All A Dollar} of different kid friendly breakfast cereals. I cut the front of the cereal boxes out for display. Filled pitchers of milk and wha-laa. You've got yourselves a cereal feast. Wanna guess which ones went the fastest?...Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Puffs.
We had 13 girls in the house, giddy and on a sugar high, watching the movie Barbie in Paris. {Dad went and hid himself!}
I gave the girls a cereal quiz found here
and the winner won this package of little cereal boxes to take home.
We only had about an hour to party which actually was perfect for me...short and sweet and to the point. {I've come to the realization that I'm a natural party planner but being the party hostess/entertainer isn't as easy on my personality. haha}
Once 7 'o clock hit we had girls going every which way... mutual..swimming...girls painting posters for the musical on the family room floor...me to a church meeting...complete mayhem. Believe it or not, I love those crazy mother moments when you are juggling a gazillion things at the same time. I know when I'm old and gray I'm going to miss them.
Kate turned 17 months old!
We celebrated by going to the newest holey place in Salt Lake. Beyond Glaze doughnut shop.
Emma had two of her girlfriends over a afternoon recently to watch Pride and Prejudice. How cute is that? I think any period piece calls for the tea cups and saucers to be pulled out. I whipped up some little strawberry shortcakes for the occasion. I used store bought dessert cups {they make them in chocolate now}. The girls loved them.
If you didn't know by now... I love food! One thing is for sure...I live to eat and not eat to live. And that's why I'll probably always have 20 lbs to lose. Keeping it real folks.
There is no back to school night at the JR HIGH this year. You do not know how pleased I am about that! Read about last year's night at the Jr. High here. Instead they held a two day leisurely walk through where kids could find their classes and practice opening their lockers on their own time. There was hardly anyone there when we were. {Heavenly} Her locker is in the 8th grade science/library hall. I was in the same hall 27 yrs ago! Brought back memories..
We were successful!
