Kyleigh's Farewell!
Kyleigh gave her farewell talk this past Sunday. We had family and close friends over afterwards for a luncheon. We had quite the gathering.
102 souls graced our home that day.
There were even more family and friends that came for the farewell that didn't even make it to the house. I can't even imagine what it would have been like had we had our ward family com'in over.
I'm not sure where we would have put them. haha.
Kyleigh was pleased with how her talk went and the festivities after.
It really was a lovely occasion, but boy, were we both relieved to have it behind us!
I tried to decorate as Korean-ish as I could.
{Whatever that is}
Lots of color I guess. ;)
We displayed Korean and Asian candy...
Korean Flag, dresses, and doll...
This quote from Elder Holland just makes me wanna cry every time I read it...
We had little cards made with her mission email and address so people can write to her....
We had Korean food to sample that her aunt and g-ma C made....Bulgogi, Kimchi and Chop Chae...unfortunately I didn't get a pic of that before it was eaten...We had croissant meat sandwiches, ten different salads, veggie trays, chips, yummy drink and desserts coming out our ears...
So many gracious people helped me with the food.
Luckily some of the guests were able to eat outside as the weather cooperated with us! Yeah! It wasn't raining... like it had been on and off all weekend......
Tried to get pics with as many of the guests as we could before they left...
Her cousin Jon, my niece Brittney's husband, played a beautiful medley of hymns on the piano at her farewell...He's amazing. Made me cry!
We even had great Aunt's and Uncle come.
Good family friends...
They adopted a daughter!
Some of my childhood friends seeing my mom again....
It's probably been years since they've seen each other.
My husband's best friend served a mission in Korea.
This guy {below} grew up in the neighborhood.
He said, "I had to attend Kyleigh's farewell. It was my duty to represent." Apparently all the guys in his friend group has liked Kyleigh at one point or another over the years and since most of those boys are on missions now...they couldn't be there themselves. BAHAHA!
Quote of the week.
Cutest bag a friend and her mom gave her with curlers inside to take on her mission.
Friends since the 3rd grade!
All the Coopers!
Some of our favorite missionary pics!
In other news....
Kyleigh's last day of work!
A little bittersweet.
No more eating lunch with poppi.
With one of her favorite co workers.
Overall just a tad bit excited!
No more waking up in the 5 o'clock hour on work days to get ready for work.
This was on Kyleigh's last day of college... for awhile anyway. ;)
She had three fitness classes, a natural disasters science class and a criminal justice class to take this semester... to finish up her Associates Degree.
For one of her fitness credits she had signed up for pickle ball,
{she loves pickle ball}
but there weren't enough students signed up to hold the class, so it got canceled.
Her options--in order to fit with her other school classes, and work schedule-- were golf and ultimate frisbee.
She ended up as the only girl in a frisbee class with 15 guys!
The first day she was absolutely mortified.
I don't think she'd ever thrown a frisbee in her life. bahaha!
Eventually, two other girls joined the class, but they rarely went.
Truth be told she ended up really enjoying it waaaaay more than she thought she ever would.
Produced some funny stories.
Just a random shot of "Kyleigh stuff" left out in the family room...
Emmsie and Kyleigh got to go to the movies with Dad. His work rented out the theatre for the new Avengers movie. They were stoked!
Kyleigh wanted to take the flower arrangements that we had at her farewell luncheon to put on family member's graves at the cemetery. An aunt, uncle, grand-pa and cousin. I think she'll have 4 guardian angels while she's away from us.
The Young Women/ Young Men in our ward had an auction to raise money for their summer youth conference river trip. Our youth raised $3, 200!
Our ward is awesome!
Emmsie made her yummy Mexican Chocolate Sheet Cake to auction off.
They helped set up and clean up.
This was going on the day before the farewell.
I'm telling you... It is never boring at our house!
Some really exciting news for my Hannah!
She made the Murray High Drill team for next school year!
She's excited!
The mom and pop are very happy for her, although, the news does comes with some mixed emotions, only cuz we know what we are getting ourselves into. ;)
She has been dancing up a storm these last few weeks. Double wammied with drill clinic & tryouts and Starlette Co rehearsals....
Two of her friends from Starlette Company made the drill team too!
It's gonna be fun!
So...Brie and Kate are little crazy for Shopkins at the moment.
They get so giddy about them.
They are happily growing their collection.
I haven't spent a dime on them. They either use their own money or g-ma indulges them.
Brie made this fondant cake at a recent Achievement Day activity!
She won the Arbor Day poster contest for all of 4th grade at her elementary. "Trees Are Terrific from every Angle."
We went to the Murray City celebration for lunch and the ceremony.
Dance Rehearsals...Big Recital Day is coming up soon!
B. Olivia is still swimming away!
I got to go on a field trip with Kate's preschool class to a nearby garden. We planted seeds, learned about chickens and petted goats.
