Bonjour!

Bonjour!
I’m a 53 year old mother of five amazing daughters and wife to a caring, sensitive AND sexy husband. I adore my family. I’m dedicated to my faith. I enjoy a good laugh. I'm nostalgic and love to reminisce. "Remember" is my favorite word in the English language. I love life! I’m passionate about music, food and {dreams of} traveling the world. I wanna be a castle and waterfall chaser. I’m fascinated with anything European. {PARIS! Hello!} I love celebrating anything and everything! I love to read, especially a good biography, mystery, Regency Era Romance or Historical fiction novel. I love thoughtful gift giving. To me the gift wrap is almost as important as the gift itself. I have a bit of an obsession with gift boxes and gift bags. As well as old world maps & globes, apothecary bottles and jars! I love being creative…bolts of ribbon, coordinating scrapbook papers, producing a table scape, or planning dΓ©cor for a themed party puts a smile on my face. I love the details! I’m a freak for anything theme oriented. I enjoy event planning, but oddly enough do not like to host or entertain. I enjoy fashion, but have to really be in the mood to clothes shop. I love purses and funky costume jewelry. Especially big rings! I’d rather wear wedges or heels any day than flats. I enjoy decorating and searching for the perfect decorative pillow or picture. However, you’ll never see me frequent high-end stores. I'm more of a Ross, TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning kind of gal. My favorite decor style is an old world rustic Italian chateau/Spanish Villa look with a hint of bohemian! OR a vintage shabby chic French country cottage/English cobblestone farmhouse. My #1 cookie-Molasses! Autumn is my favorite season. I’d go through childbirth a million times. I enjoy biking with my man, Pilates, and power walking. You’ll never find me in a gym working out. I love movies, whether watching them in the theatre or cuddled up on the couch with my family. I enjoy a good chick flick or real life drama! I'm a sucker for movies on the Hallmark & Great American Family Channel. I have a tender heart for the elderly. I adore Disneyland. I enjoy being in the canyon on a summer or fall evening at dusk. I love my friends. While I have some extroverted characteristics. I’m a self proclaimed introvert. I’m generally quiet, calm, reserved and pretty darn private. Why in the heck do I blog? It’s a creative way to record family history. I enjoy photography. I really don’t like to write, although I write in my journal often. My journals, patriarchal blessing, scriptures, quote book, and beloved Christmas tree filled with ornaments of family memories, are among my prized possessions. I love the beach. I enjoy WWII history. I love a clean, orderly house, but ours usually looks lived in. ;) PBS Masterpiece is my friend. I adore Jane Austen films. They transport me to another time and place. If I had to choose another time period in which to live, early 19th Century England would be my pick. "Sense and Sensibility" is my all time favorite movie. My 3 favorite TV series are...BBC's Larkrise to Candleford, the 1950's Spanish Drama "Velvet," and the travel/food show "Somebody Feed Phil." My biggest pet peeve is people who blow their noses in public. So gross! {Take it to the bathroom people.} I’d go on a wine tasting vacation if it wasn’t against my religion. I’ve always wanted to adopt a baby from a foreign country. I’m an avid BYU football fan. I'm a Educational Support Professional. I tutor elementary kids in phonemic awareness, phonics, reading, fluency and comprehension. I love our campfires at Scofield Lake. I have a 'thing' for fairy gardens, Gallic French roosters, fresh flowers in a vase, pretty bowls & plates, yummy smelling candles & soap. I love summer rainstorms and warm baths. I'm a scripture podcast fanatic. I'm also a fan of several Fox News shows. I enjoy politics. I'd rather clean 20 toilets than give a talk or prayer in church. I do not like attention directed at ME. lol I have quite a collection of Madame Alexander Dolls, children's books, Disney pins, and quotes. My favorite quote is "Don't underestimate me. I know more than I say, think more than I speak & notice more than you realize." True True LOL! I always prefer sitting in a back row versus the front. {I'm sort of a seat snob..yikes} I also have high expectations for my lemonade, salsa, and french fries too. HA! I work well behind the scenes. I love a good Dateline, 20/20 or 48 Hour Mystery. I’m a night owl. I'd rather be cold than hot. I love to budget our finances! I enjoy being a chauffeur to my children. I hate when my kids have homework. I'm not a huge fan of social media. I don't snap, pin or tweet. All I want for Christmas every year is a ticket to the Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. It's my FAVORITE. I’m an Anglophile…a royal watcher who loves anything English! Especially tea parties! I would like to serve a church mission to England with Jaren someday. I'm queen of paper towel, used kitchen dishrags and sponges kinda make me squirm. You’ll rarely find me out of the house not ready for the day, except when driving the kids to school on the days I don't work. I feel naked without lipstick or lip gloss. Mismatched socks, chipped fingernail polish, and chapped lips drive me nuts! I like to organize and BE organized..but not saying I always am. ;) I enjoy hiking to waterfalls, ATV’ing with my family and snowshoeing with the hubs. Although I enjoy collecting recipes and occasionally watch cooking shows... (Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade, Paula Deen, Jamie Oliver, and the Pioneer Woman are my favorites) I’d rather not cook. Eating out is so much more fun. I'm a foodie. I live to EAT! LOL Trying new foods and restaurants is a favorite past-time. I'm always on the hunt for yummy gluten free food as I am gluten intolerant. I'm not good at a lot of things... but gosh, if you need help with a themed celebration or someone to enjoy good food with, I'm your girl. I love the joy of anticipation and the celebration of holidays. Family traditions are important to me. I'm a memory preserver. I'm a pathological picture taker ;) a visual storyteller, and a lover of happy lists!

What's On My Happy List?

Some Halloween Fun!

So we've been doing themed costumes
for 22 years now.
Haven't had a theme repeat
until this year.
{We think Scooby Doo is worth the re-do}

Here is our young Scooby Doo gang...
circa 2002
{I'm the Boo To You Scooby Doo Ghost in the back and
Jaren was Shaggy. We were just miss'in Fred. haha}
Here is the modern day Scooby Doo Gang
Cooper girl style....
We tried going over to the supposedly haunted
Murray Mansion for our photoshoot
but it's under construction.
So...
we went to the creepy house
at Wheeler Farm instead.
The dogs were the Mystery Machine
and the ghost villain.
sniff'in evidence
We had sub sandwiches and milkshakes
like the gang would have done...
Muddie Buddies and Scoobie Snacks...
Shaggy and Scoob...
Always eat'in!
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰
*****
The day after Halloween we
celebrated the Day of the Dead
Mexican holiday.
With a nacho bar!
The girls made Day of the Dead
flower head bands and decorated sugar skulls.
*****
In dog life....

morning hugs!

*****
And now to the Election Madness!

We had a Trump Par-tay!!!
I have smart girls...
just say'in.
This pic below pretty much sums
up the rest of the night nicely.
πŸ˜‚
Goodness me, what a mess...
There are no words really
to explain how I feel about what is
happening right now
other than it's a complete shit show.
So...I'll just post some of my favorite
insta posts
that I've seen over the last few days...
*****
*****
Does the left know what constitutes a
legal vote?
Apparently not.
*****
*****
*****
the double standard is nauseating...
*****
Yup!
But I think we knew that already.
*****
ya...good luck with that demo-rats...
I wouldn't want
the Trump legal team after my ass.
😳
*****
Can't wait to see what unfolds next.
This is far from over folks.
I don't hear any fat lady singing...
and it ain't over til she sings!

Meanwhile... these boys are giving us
something to celebrate!

What's On My Happy List?

Trump Triumphant!
Mak'in America Great Again!

OH WHAT A HAPPY DAY
IT WAS FOR ME!

Too see the Clinton's elitist empire of power, greed, and corruption

ALL COME CRASHING DOWN LAST NIGHT...

along with
the liberal biased media...
and Hollywood...
and the Washington establishment...
AND the whiney hypocritical liberals who preach tolerance and diversity yet the second you don't conform to their way of thinking you are the evil one...and yet they are the ones out protesting, holding riots and burning the American flag. Pretty vile and unAmerican! Just say'in.

OH. MY. GOSH..

PURE SATISFACTION!

that you didn't get it your way

I died of happiness.

Did you hear the silent majority for Trump ROAR?

I feel like the forgotten, average, hard working American's voice was finally heard. And they were saying enough is enough!

THANK GOD!

Here's just a few reasons why I {and 59 + Million deplorables} voted for Trump:

I voted for Supreme Court Justices who will uphold and adhere to the Constitution.

I voted for Religious Liberty.

I voted for Homeland Security, building THE WALL, and knocking the @#$* out of ISIS.

I voted for immigrants coming here the right way..legally and vetted to the highest degree.

I voted for a revitalized economy that will create more jobs.

I voted for Law and Order.

I voted for "draining the swamp"...exposing the truth and ridding the government of corruption and pay to play schemes.

I voted for everyone being equal under the law as NO ONE is above the law.

I voted for digging ourselves out of 19 Trillion dollars of debt.

I voted for protecting the unborn.

I voted for supporting our troops, building up our military, and taking care of our Veterans.

I voted for fair trade deals.

I voted to be energy independent.

I voted for tax cuts.

I voted for crude honesty over polished lies.

I voted to uphold the second amendment and to keep our guns safely in our homes.

I voted to get rid of common core and to bring education back to the States.

I voted for the "facts" over allegations.

I voted for better healthcare rates by repealing and replacing Obamacare.

I voted for "all lives matter."

I voted for less government controlling our lives.

I voted for not being "politically correct."

I voted for change and not the failed status-quo policies of Obama.

I voted for the mocked and smeared underdog, who fought back, and yes has said some mean and rude things along the way. Don't we all?

I voted for the one not bought by any big bank, special interest group, or foreign country.

I voted for a non politician, an outsider, a no b.s. kind of guy who is a successful businessman... who has incredible work ethic and who has raised AMAZING hardworking children. He's a fighter and bold patriot who loves his country and has a huge heart. He wants to help ALL Americans of any race, color, or sexual orientation achieve the American dream {despite what the spewing hate "left" may say with their propaganda.}  If you don't know what Trump's vision is for America, do your research and educate yourself accurately on his policies before you pass judgement.  He is not doom and gloom.

I voted for the one who will put "we" the AMERICAN people first!

I witnessed a modern day political miracle last night. Trump defied all odds. I am proud as heck to say I voted for Trump and
to call him Mr.
President! I believe he's exactly what this country needs.

Favorite Quote of the week by my dad:

"I could get hit by a car and be in the hospital and it would still be a good day because Trump is going to be the President."
bahaha.
{I agree dad, I agree.}

What's On My Happy List?

Kyleigh in Korea
mission update week 51

I'm a big girl now...
Whirlwind of a weekend. I got a special call from the mission president on Saturday night. He has asked me to train a brand new missionary for the next two transfers.  I will find out who my trainee is on Wednesday afternoon. I'm with a temporary companion, Sister Allred, until then.  There will be four Sisters training and five Elders training and we are all Americans. It's going to be an adventure.

Met up with lots of old friends at the mission home...

My very first companion/trainer is going home...

so is Sister Call..

Ward Picnic on Saturday!

In other family news this week....

After school we headed up North to pick up Hannah's dress for the Ball.
There just happens to be this little British dive in Layton...

that serves yummy authentic fish and chips and

 a fried Mars Candy Bar?!?!...

These two had dinner out with mom and dad to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants!
Morelia's.
Another one of those Murray only dives that has been around for decades. ;)

*****
Hannah's big day!
She had her first ever date. To the girl's choice Spartonian Ball.
Even though she's still a few weeks shy of turning 16....we let her go because it was a team event. Knowing she was going with this boy helped.
{Nicest kid around.}

The whole team had a water balloon and paint fight!
Super fun!

Before and After...

She was gone waaaayy longer than anticipated..when she did finally arrive she came barreling in the house...
"MOM!....{just like Kyleigh used to do}
YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED TO US"!!!

Keys locked in the car!
Took hours to remedy the situation.

In just two hours she went from this...

to this...
Whalaa!!!

Emmsie did her hair and was there every step of the way helping her to get ready.

Good thing Hannie was picking up her date and not the other way around.
Just say'in.
This house...at THE most inopportune times...is grand central station.

I love how is boutonnière is way down yonder. Cracks me up.
Awe..does he not look 12 though?
What's so cute is that he happened to turn 16 on their date! ;)

One of the drill moms chaperoning captured this picture!
{The night was a success.}

After we got Hannie off to the Ball, Daddy took the rest of us {minus Brie on an outing with Aunt and twin cousins} out for Indian. Emma got to choose. She worked her butt off helping dad in our elderly neighbor's backyard earlier that day.

 *****

SO.... a little unknown fact about me.
I love the FOX NEWS Channel!

I love Hannity! Just tell it like it is.

and these two, along with Dana Perino from "THE FIVE"

I SO ENJOY listening to the political analysts talk about the Presidential Campaign. I've been following the State Primaries...and all those election results, and so forth, for some time now.  And while I'm not an outspoken or overly opinionated individual in general, I may just pipe up and give my two cents worth when it comes to love of country, and politics.  Just so you know where my loyalties lie...let's say it's the only time I'm ever red over blue. Not surprising for a Utah Mormon, but it may be a little shocking to some that my father and I have been in the closet Trump supporters for a bit now. {Sorry Mitt!} When Trump won the Indiana Primary on Tuesday night it was cause for celebration for the two of us... My dad with his walker ...drinking his Ensure, and me short of dancing on the kitchen table. I kid. But seriously. We were both very pleased.

Now before you come pepper spray me or hold a protest rally on my street...  I know he's not the perfect candidate. I wouldn't hand pick him to be the President of the United States. Clearly he's not without his character flaws.... {but who is?...and truthfully it may come down to the lesser of the two evils}  I don't agree with everything that comes out of his mouth, but I sure agree with a heck of a lot. If he's given the chance I believe he has qualities that would serve our country well, and while I'm not going to get into all my reasons why I want him for President...{I have a list}.... I will just leave you with words from a Trump supporter by the name of K Jensen...."Trump is my anger, my frustration, my hopelessness...finding a voice. He is me, standing on the highest hill, shouting, "I'm not gonna take it anymore!" That's why I love Trump. I know it's not reasonable. I know it's not sane. And I don't care."
I say amen.
Go Trump!

*****
Celebrated Star Wars Day!
Everyone loves Star Wars around here
{except for me..haha}
but we celebrated anyway.
I put together some simple "light saber" treats with licorice and peach rings...
{found the cute print-ables on line}

the girls made their own light sabers ;)
from pvc pipe and pool noodle
{saw the idea on-line HERE}

and they decorated them with duct tape...

Hannah video tapped our duel and what's so funny is that when we watched it back...you can hear the Star Wars theme playing in the background.  Brie just happened to be inside playing the Star Wars theme on the piano with the front door open. So.. our light saber duel was pretty legit. haha

Brie's outfit for the day!
 *****
Senior Splash!
The water fight of all water fights amongst the Senior Class... that lasts for days.  The measures people take to get people out.... It's pretty funny. One girlfriend was trying to lure Emma out of the house making her think she was being asked to a dance {when actually she was just hiding in the bushes ready to attack with a water gun} Her plan didn't work. Cuz Emma didn't come out of the house. She was TICKED thinking that someone had actually asked her to the dance. She was so relieved to know it was a joke... and that she didn't have to go to another dance. bahaha

A couple of nights later another girlfriend was in cahoots with Hannah to lure Emma out of the house...
It sorta worked.
*****
Lunch out with some lady friends...
Tried "Cous Cous" a Mediterranean Restaurant for the first time...
Did not disappoint.
:)

*****
Celebrated Cinco De Mayo
My family devoured these chicken enchiladas.
I tried a new recipe from
that Coombs V.T.'ing lady is the bomb diggity

My little Mexican cutie patooties...
*****
My nephew got his mission call!
Look at him. He's such a stud!
We went to his place for the big reveal.
He's going to Frankfurt, Germany!
{Lucky duck}
You hear of missionaries going where they least expect {that would be Kyleigh} but then there are those that go where it just totally makes sense. Couldn't be a more perfect fit, for various reasons.

Awe..my Emmsie and Kade were born just weeks apart.

Where does the time go my friends?

 *****

Teacher Appreciation Gifts for Brie and Kate...

 *****
Phew...I think that's a wrap...there's A LOT that goes down in a week around here..LOL
