A Peek Into Our Week....
I attended the Pinnacle Awards Gala with the hubs with his
school board duties...
The FOOD was made by budding chefs from
Murray High's
Culinary Prostart Program..
It had a touch of Indian flare
and was surprisingly delicious!
*****
Friday morning I threw together some Irish{green, orange and gold} inspired
school lunches for the kiddos!
That afternoon I had a pedicure with Emmsie.
π
I haven't had one of those in like a year!
Boy did we have a weekend.
Like it was one of those...
I need a weekend from the weekend.
π
Kyleigh and I attended the Shen Yun concert Friday night.
{It was one of her birthday gifts.}
It was at the newly built Eccles Theatre downtown on Main.
Very swanky place.
The night was filled with beautiful Classical Chinese Dancing.
It was a lovely evening.
And of course we wore our Asian inspired shoes.
π
Afterwards, we walked over to this dessert shop
across from the Eccles called
Last Course.
I got the classic bread pudding.
Good, but no where as memorable as the one I had at Disneyland.
π
Kyleigh got a German Chocolate Cake...
hidden in a Valrhona chocolate sphere
that was only exposed when hot caramel sauce
was poured on it....
Quite fascinating to watch...
It looked soooooo good but I took one biteand it was waaayyy
to bitter rich for my tastes.
π
I wanna go back and try some of their funky
ice cream flavors...
like pear and blue cheese
and jalapeno berry!
*****
St. Patrick's Day was a trip!
Not only was it wedding day but we
had 16 teenagers over
for breakfast that morning!
It was the girl's choice MAG dance that evening..but as you know
these affairs turn into all day events...
We left as Hannah and girlfriends were
cooking for the boys....
π¨
hoping to heck they wouldn't burn the house down!
They watched Riverdance and made their t-shirts
for the dance that evening....
{cute clues from sunnydayfamily on line...}
Just to add to the hilarity that was this day...
Kate was supposed to be baptized Sat morning
but Weddings trump Baptisms AND if we didn't have enough going on....
dance pictures for both her and Brie were Saturday as well...
but we had to pass on those this year.... Jeesh!
I'm telling you I do not know why everything falls on the same day.
Anywho....Kate had made a Leprechaun trap the night before....
π
I hid clues that led her throughout the house
to a pot full of gold and goodies
for all the girls...
We left that morning in a snowstorm
for the temple ceremony....
π
We kept hoping and hoping for better weather...
come picture time there was no rain or snow...
π
just freaking cold.
However, we were prepared...
Poppi was the official umbrella holder...
My bro loves to photo bomb.
Kyleigh was in her element being the maid of honor and helping the bride get in
her wedding dress...
Both the wedding luncheon and reception were at Heritage Gardens...
Love this place!
Love my fam!
yummy food....We got home from the luncheon to see Hannah off to pick up their dates....
It was 70's Disco Night!
with a photo shoot at the local Walmart.
Nice.
This was the crew at our house!
Such cute kids!
If you knew half the boy drama around here
at times...
π
We have already been dealing with Senior Ball issues....
dance is not for another month.
I swear if our fam had a reality tv show you'd be quite entertained.
Rocky Road Ice-cream cures all ills
{in my book anyway..it's my fav...}
hopefully it will for this kid too.
Sat evening we headed back for the reception....
The cute couple!
Loved loved the cake and flowers....!Also loved how Emily displayed quotes on marriage/love from her favorite movies...
some of my favorites too!
π
from the movie LEAP YEAR!
Crepes...
Kate was in heaven with all the food!
Got to see a dear cousin and Aunt that I don't see near enough. Brie caught the bouquet and her cousin
{the same age.. and the bride's brother}
the garter..
Quite funny at age 13!
Love having 3 bouquets of
wedding flowers at home
to enjoy...
The icky weather ruined"decorating the car efforts"
for the groomsmen and bridesmaids...
but they sure tried..
Lovely Wedding. Lovely Day!
*****
Sunday we were in charge of family dinner
for the hubs side...
We had traditional corn beef, cabbage, carrots, Irish soda bread
and Irish Creme Pie.....
Sunday Night we attended another
Stake Fireside...
a Youth Kickoff for the upcoming
Jordan River Temple Re-dedication.
Cute temple cookies...
Monday afternoon the sisters and I had a birthday lunch for my mom...
Rice King Cashew Shrimp take-out!
That night the extended family gathered for
a celebration for her...
My mom is doing awesome for 86!
