A Peek Into Our Week...
We had our last week working with the kiddos at school.
We work for six'ish months then have close to six months off.
It's a pretty sweet gig.
Our boss put on a spread for us to thank us for a great year......
I so enjoy all the people I work with.
The kids were so cute on the last day of SBI.
We got showered with cards and hugs AND the cutest poem that one of the teachers wrote personalizing it for each para that worked in her classroom.
SO thoughtful!
One 6th grade boy that I work with wrote this...
Love how he spelled my name wrong...
π
cuz ya know spelling is one thing, amongst many, that we work on....
Emmsie and I helped put some hygiene kits together for this awesome International organization for girls...
The 1D fabric was my fav!
π
*****
Cousin Allie slept over and the older three were out hanging with her so the rest of us went out to one of our favorite Mexi dives...*****
This past weekend the hubs and I were able to escape to St. George for a couple of days.
{Kudos to Emmsie who held down the fort us.
She's the second mama around here.
Bless her!}
It was so nice to see blue sky and palm trees as it has been cold, rainy and even snowing this past week.
Jeesh! I love the snow, but I don't want to see it STILL at the end of April.
We were just in Zion's over Spring Break, but we weren't able to go hiking at all, so we headed back there to hike!
Hiking to waterfalls is one of my favorite things to do!
It was gorgeous there at the Upper Emerald Pool...despite the lack of pool water.
There is the cutest little town, Springdale, just right outside Zions.We found a yummy Mexican restaurant to try out.
Their Pico De Gallo!
Holy Moly!
{It made it onto my running list of favorite salsas.}
Peter Cetera!
You guys I die!
First of all, who knew he even toured anymore... He's like 72!
Which leads me to wonder how come three of my favorite singers are all in their 70's?
Barry Manilow, Barry Gibb from the Bee Gee's, and Cetera.
{I'm thinking I may have been born in the wrong generation music wise. haha}
Man, I've been await'in for this night!
I got these tickets as a gift at Christmas.
With bath bombs included.
I love me a warm bath!
And guess who provides my bath music
every time?????
Peter Cetera!
{not kidding}
π
Music is such a huge part of my life.
I have certain music to cook with. That would be Frank! {Sinatra}
To do dishes. Westlife!
to jog with, {that's a honk'in list}
and etc... etc...
the hubs is not even a concert goer, but he was such a good sport and enjoyed himself.
We couldn't have our camera's out until the
encore
so I didn't get any of the songs I wanted to on video.
Dang it!
But all I can say is that this man was blessed with one clear voice,
and I love him for it!
This medley he did with David Foster a few years back has been played many many
times around here..
My B. Olivia is a fan of 80's music and she loves Peter Cetera too!!!
If he ever comes again in concert, she's gotta come with! π
Before heading home we were able to drive through Kolob Canyon.
Absolutely gorgeous!!
*****
In other random family news...
Kyleigh had her 4th annual Butterfly Box Girls party with her besties.
It's kind of like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants thing they got going on,
but they pass around "the box" instead of pants... π
she got a scalp treatment and facial with friends and cousin.
She finished up her Institute class which she really enjoyed...
and tried one of those acai bowls for the first time!
*****
Hannah got asked to Centennial Ball!
We were all checking out the security camera's...where the drop off was caught on tape!
hilarious!
Hannie is always hanging with a bunch of boys...
they were all goofing off playing Star Wars in their Jedi robes the other night..
um...k??? π
I guess getting geared up for Star Wars Day coming up this next week??? haha
I seriously have a child planning a Star Wars Marathon on May 4th...
all 18'ish hours worth, starting at 5:30 in the morn.
For reals.
{I will not be participating.}
