Kyleigh In Korea
mission update- week 46
I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!!
I am telling you from experience that no one knows what Easter is here in Korea...even some members don't know and most don't do anything huge to celebrate!
People... this is a BIG DAY!
Where is your Easter spirit??
It's okay.. I got to teach some people on the street about what Easter is. :)
My experience that I want to share this week is about one of the members in our ward here in Dogye. Her name is Sister Kim. She is 38 years old and has severe mental problems. She is so sweet and loves the missionaries. She comes to church by herself (her mom is less active) and she has such a sweet spirit about her. Sister Park (new comp) and I got to go visit Sister Kim at her house on Saturday. She showed us pictures and tried to describe stories to us and we taught her about Jesus. Being with her made me think of all the people like her who in this life might not be all there mentally, but in the next life they will be made whole. That thought made me happy. Sister Kim doesn't have many friends and she always wanted to get married. So me being me, I decided that there is a Strippling Warrior waiting for her up in Heaven. :)
This life isn't always fair and we all struggle with different things. But in the end none of that will matter because we will have the opportunity to live happily and at peace if we endure to the best of our ability. Jesus Christ knows us and knows exactly how we feel and I am so thankful for everything that he went through for us as our Savior. I love Jesus. :)
Love you all so much!! Enjoy General Conference next weekend!!!
xoxo

In Other Family News.....
Our Spring Break started out with snow. Gotta love that!
Felt more like an extension of winter break!
Emmsie got asked out on a date. Her very first! On a snowy Monday morn.
{Hannie was hiding in the front room and snapped this pic. Go Hannie!}
The boy that asked her out is such a likable, funny and nice guy. He's one of the SBO's...so everybody knows Max. Emma has known him for years ....so that made her "first" date a little less awkward. The plan was to go on a hike then to breakfast, but the snow kinda squashed that idea. Anywho, Emmsie survived! Yeah! Even though she hates bowling and barely says boo to the opposite sex. haha She actually had a real good time...
Lego time with Kate. I love doing Lego's. {is that weird?}
Let's talk pizza. I love it.
I would eat it multiple times a week if I could. ;)
We decided to branch out and try a new {to us} pizza take out.
Our general go to is Papa John's. {yummy crust!}
Another family favorite are the pizza benders from Italian Village,
{not to be mistaken with Village Inn}
IV is a one of those iconic Murray only dives that has been around forever.
It was the hubs hang out in high school. ;)
Can't really beat a pizza bender, or some of my other favorite's like Pizzeria Limone or Malawi's, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed Big Daddy's.
Pizza for game night is the best.
My team was one of only eight in the country that were still playing basketball at the end of March.
We made it to the NIT final four in Madison Square Garden.
Pretty darn awesome I say. :)
The second half was crazy..it went down to the wire...but GOSH DANG IT, we came up short...it was a heartbreaking loss..by 2!
We had a couple Z themed days!
We went and saw Zootopia. Super duper cute show! Had Zuppas for lunch and Zebra Cakes..
We visited g-pa one last time before heading out of town for a few days..
{After 3 1/2 weeks g-pa is finally home. Yeah! So happy my mom and dad are back together under one roof. They had one heck of a support system through this whole ordeal. Just one example...family members took turns staying with my mom every night for 26 nights so she wouldn't be alone.}
Our Zermatt get away...
Emmsie catching up on some ZZZZZZ's....
This was her calling card... basically the whole trip!
We colored and played games...
And made our bellies happy...
Tony's Taco's in Heber. Heck of a dive, but really good authentic Mexican.
Hannie caught me off guard with my rum raisin gelato! ;)
I sorta have a 'thing' for the rum flavor. I accidentally had a drink with the real stuff in it on our honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta . I swear I didn't know I was drinking alcohol, but dang it was good. Ever since then I've been a little partial to the rum flavor.
{Shh! Don't tell my Bishop. haha}
Good thing I don't drink.
vending machine hopping...on 3 floors!
Daddy had to leave the fun for a time and head back down to the valley for some work commitments.. gett'in a goodbye hug!
Boy, did we have some obstacles trying to get some swim time in.
The indoor pool was closed due to part of the ceiling caving in and the outdoor pool was no where heated enough, but the little girls insisted on braving the glacier like temps to swim. CRAZY!
It was only in the 40's outside to begin with...
The hot tub is where I spent most of my time!
pool side read!
We took a jaunt across the way to the Homestead to climb up to the top of the hot spring crater believed to be 10,000 yrs old.
One of these days I'd actually like to swim in it.
{If I get brave.}
Hannah rein-acted Kyleigh napping in this same spot a year ago...
{WE MISS KY!!!}
playing checkers!
We took a nature walk along the Provo River before we headed home...tried out our new trekking poles for our upcoming summer hikes. ;)
Loved Conference!
Gave these cute reminders to watch it to my visiting teachers
{free printable from THE visiting teaching queen at marcicoombs.com}
Watch'in and listening to part of Conference in the backyard hammocks with the hubs was pretty much the bomb.
{Kate snapped this pic}
I think it's my favorite pic of the whole week.
Conference snack food
along with G-ma's Conference brunch..it's been a really good food week {more like 10 days} just say'in...
Have you seen this? Wow!
We watched this movie over the weekend.
SO SO GOOD!
