Kyleigh mission update week 21
Hello Everyone!!
Monday September 28, 2015
So it was kind of P Day but not because of Fitness Day on Tuesday. Because of the Holiday most people were busy though so we emailed home and then worked on updating our member books with the Elders.
Tuesday September 29, 2015
Woke up at 5 am to head to Busan for the 5K. It was fun to see everyone. I participated in the 5K. There was a 10K as well, I was like "yeah there's no way I can do that." I won't even tell you my time for the 5K because it's too embarrassing haha! After we ate hamburgers and hot dogs together. On the way back to our house the train was full so we had to buy standing tickets. I actually got lucky and was eventually able to sit down. Some other Missionaries had to stand for the whole hour and a half train ride after running all day.
Wednesday September 30, 2015
We had District Meeting at the Dustin's again. I wasn't in charge of anything so it was nice. We ate spaghetti and cinnamon rolls. After we taught a lesson with the Elders. Our investigators name is 임신영s. She is our last eternal investigator that we have in the area. We dropped the other and we are probably going to have to drop her too. It's sad, but she really just likes the Missionaries and has no interest in the gospel. We proselyted with the Elders... Then had English Class, and my companion and I gave the Spiritual thought on prophets.
Thursday October 1, 2015
Sister Park and I met Elder and Sister Dustin for lunch. We were both kind of on edge all day because it was Transfer Call Day and we didn't know who was going to be the one to leave etc.. I made brownies at 9pm because I was nervous ( I ate the whole pan). We didn't get called until 10:15pm...and I got told I was being transferred! My new area is called 신정 Sheenjong, and it's in a different zone as well! People say its a really good area. I'm super excited! Sister Park is going to be staying here for another two transfers and training again.
Friday October 2, 2015
We woke up and called our District Leader to find out where everyone got transferred to. I called my new companion to tell her we wound be serving together. Her name is Sister Cunningham. She is from South Jordan, Utah and went to Bingham High School and knows of cousin, Emily!!!....like what a small world, right?? I'm excited for a fresh start. I struggled big time with the culture my first area. Although my companion was very sweet and I learned a lot from her, which I am grateful,.... it's very different serving with Koreans vs. serving with a foreign companion {like another American}. Now I can learn from my new companion how a "foreigner" does Missionary work in Korea. It was crazy having to pack everything up. hehe :) It took me two and a half hours to pack, and we took my luggage to the Post Office. We had our little kid English teaching library service activity as well.
Saturday October 3, 2015
We prepared our YW lesson that we had to teach on Sunday. English Class was sad because I had to say goodbye to some really sweet people. One lady even gave me a gift. We don't watch conference until a week later here. It has to be translated into Korean. So I'll actually get to watch it next weekend. We did find out who the three new apostles are. They sent out a mass text to all the missionaries. Looking forward to watching conference next weekend. My companion and I will get to watch it in English together!
Sunday October 4, 2015
We had a super busy day and it was my last in the area. Us Missionaries sang in Sacrament, I spoke in Sacrament, we taught the lesson in YW, we taught one of our investigators and had dinner with the Elders and my favorite member family. We sang and shared a spiritual message with them and took pictures. It was kind of a sad goodbye because I really love them and enjoyed being with their family. They've been so kind to me these past 12 weeks.
I am very happy and doing really well! I will send pictures of my new place next week once I am settled in, but my apartment is great! The bathroom is definitely a down grade, but we have a full fridge and I don't have to sleep in the kitchen hehe! And there are more pads for me to sleep on, so it's more comfy! I've gotten lucky housing wise. :)
I hope everyone is doing well! Love you all!
xoxoxo
Sister Kyleigh Cooper

Kyleigh with her {former} companion Sister Park on Mission Fitness Day
Found these jars of yumminess at our local Smiths the other day. Fantastic on grilled cheese.
Especially the apple butter with pepperjack cheese. ;)
Some pumpkin painting with cousin...
We watched this movie this week...
If you haven't seen this yet...{it's out on DVD now} you gotta.
We were able to watch it on Xfinity On Demand for free.
SO SO GOOD!
It doesn't hurt that Kevin Costner is the coach! He has always been one of my favorites since I was a teenager. And he has sorta made a comeback of late. ;)
We received these 5K pics from Kyleigh's mission president...
Kyleigh with Sister Lee Handa and ?.
My favorite family from my first area....
Side note: After Busan Mission blog searching I came across some missionary blogs...a couple of them belonging to missionaries that Kyleigh has worked directly with in her District. Found Kyleigh in some of the pics. Some I had never seen. So that was a fun find!
Another pic from the E-World Amusement park they visited a few weeks back
{this, and following 3 pictures off Elder Lees mission blog HERE}
Another pic from District lunch a few weeks back...
The missionaries seem to eat pretty darn good if you ask me. :)
Pics from Korean Thanksgiving...Kyleigh, kneeling, participating in their special ceremony.
The table of food and drink is an offering to the Korean's ancestors.
Found Kyleigh in this pic of the Busan Mission Sister's Conference that was held a month or so ago.

My dad has taken the the guys in the family out to dinner after the priesthood session for ages.
Always Chuck A Rama.
It's tradition.
He had me go early to reserve tables for them so they wouldn't have to wait in the long lines after the meeting... cuz I'm telling you that place gets crazy crowded...
The girls and I got to eat with daddy on guys night out even.
Brie had her first elementary band concert.
The first concert in the new junior high auditorium!
Brie's group of 5th graders have only been playing a few weeks, but their instructor still had them play 2 numbers prior to the Junior High bands and the Salt Lake Symphonic Winds performing.
oh boy!....they sounded awful. haha
it was pretty funny
Brie and everyone in the fam that listened to the video recording after had a few laughs.
Bless their hearts!
Gotta start somewhere!
Our new junior high has on display items from a time capsule that was found in the old Hillcrest building as it was being torn down. It just so happened to be from my 9th grade year 1986-87!!! Oh my gosh, so fun to look at the photographs and see if I recognized anyone. I did. Old magazines, cosmetics items...what was "in" at the time. Pretty cool!

Parent Teacher Conferences were this week for these two.
Little stop at Sweet Tooth to reward them for their good grades!
The Drill team held a Jr. Spartonion Drill Camp for girls ages 3-14.
