Kyleigh Mission Update
Week 18
Hello Everyone!
Monday September 7, 2015
Both mine and my companion's bags died...the straps were broke. So we went to the downtown shopping center and had lunch with our Elders and Zone Leaders.. then went bag shopping. After that I had some downtime to write letters, which was nice. We emailed home, then had our Missionary Correlation Meeting, then Family Home Evening!

Got all four hours of study done in a row...that like never happens. Picked out a new textbook for our English Class attendees to study from. We are prepping for the grand opening of our new English class..bigger, more professional version. Hopefully it will get more people coming. Maybe we will find some people that are actually interested in the gospel from this English class. The hard part is we really don't have investigators that we can teach gospel lessons to week by week and see progress. We just end up having a lot of new investigators. We get teaching about Heavenly Father and prophets and thats about as far we get and then either they drop us or something happens. We will see how things go. Met with our investigator whose English name is Molly. She had a baptism date 2 years ago, so we are trying to figure out why she backed out. We have to take things really slow with her, but she has an open mind.

We had Mission Tour! Elder Yamashita from the Quorum of the Seventy came and spoke to us. He talked a lot about focusing on our Investigators and working with members. His wife speaks only a little English so she did an origami project with us all. We each made paper lips and her point was to "open your mouth". Very cute!

We had three appointments set up. The first one was an older lady that is Catholic and she flat out said she can't change her religion. The next appointment was the older lady's daughter and she seemed interested in what we had to say. The third never showed and never bothered to call...how polite :) haha!
Friday September 11, 2015
We had our old folks soup kitchen service activity, and our little kids library service activity. We made brownies and visited two of the Sisters in the ward. We had Area Meeting and I had an old, creepy guy hit on me during the day...thankfully one of the Elders was near by so he shooed the man away haha!
Saturday September 12, 2015
We had English Class and I taught the advanced level. Sister Park and I visited a less active couple with a Brother in the ward and his daughter. They took us out to dinner after.

My fourth month mark! Woot woot! It was our Fast and Testimony Meeting. I decided to be brave and get up and share a scripture and share a simple (cuz I can't say much in Korean yet) testimony about Jesus Christ. That is the first time I've really gotten up willingly and bore my testimony in a fast and testimony meeting. Baby steps. Gotta start somewhere! I shared Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." I was glad I did it. That night we were invited to attend a Daegu Stake Fireside. They didn't have anyone translating it into English, so I didn't understand much. I had trouble staying awake haha!
The christlike attribute this month that I've chosen to work on is charity and love. I'm really focusing on loving the people, I feel when I do that the language comes a little easier. Hoping my language skills can improve. It's getting to the point where I can understand some things, but it's also still super frustrating.. people will be talking to me and I straight up don't know what they are saying because I don't know the words and there is nothing I can do about it. People are probably frustrated with me...they want me to do things, but I don't know what they want me to do, because I can't understand...so yah... the language is coming slowly, but surely.
I had a good week. I'm trying to stay busy, focused and doing my best. Hope everyone is happy and healthy!! Have a fabulous week!
Love,

It was spirit day at the elementary...Co Cougs!
Hannah and I had tickets for the BYU/Boise State game Saturday night.
We looked forward to it ALL week.
We had a little photo opportunity with Taysom Hill's cardboard cutout.
Next best thing to the real deal. ;)
He was Hannie's favorite player.
We are both super bummed about his season ending injury last week against Nebraska.
However.... we are quickly becoming Mangum's #1 fans.
We've known about this kid for years.
Back in 2011, the summer before his senior year of high school, he participated in the Elite 11 camp for some of the best high school quarterbacks in the country. We took notice then, and have been awaiting his arrival ever since...knowing he was planning on playing in the future for the 'Y'.
