Bonjour!

Bonjour!
I’m a 44 year old mother of five amazing daughters and wife to a caring, sensitive AND sexy husband. I adore my family. I’m dedicated to my faith. I enjoy a good laugh. I'm nostalgic and love to reminisce. "Remember" is my favorite word in the English language. I love life! I’m passionate about music, food and travel. I’m fascinated with anything European. {PARIS! Hello!} I love celebrating anything and everything! I love to read, especially a good biography, mystery, Regency Era or Historical fiction novel. I love thoughtful gift giving. To me the gift wrap is almost as important as the gift itself. I love being creative…bolts of ribbon, coordinating scrapbook papers, producing a tablescape, or d├ęcor for a themed party etc. puts a smile on my face. I love the details! I’m a freak for anything theme oriented. I enjoy event planning, but oddly enough do not like to host or entertain. I enjoy fashion, but have to be really in the mood to clothes shop. I love purses and funky jewelry. I’d rather wear wedges or heels any day than flats. I enjoy decorating and searching for the perfect decorative pillow or picture. However, you’ll never see me frequent high-end stores. I'm more of a Ross, TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning kind of gal. My favorite decor style is an old world rustic chateau look with a hint of bohemian, baroque and vintage shabby chic, like an English cottage. {confusing I know!} Autumn is my favorite season. I’d go through childbirth a million times. I enjoy biking with my man, Pilates, and jogging. BUT you’ll never find me in a gym working out. I love movies, whether watching them in the theatre or cuddled up on the couch with my family. I enjoy a good chick flick or real life drama! I'm a sucker for movies on the Hallmark Channel. I love the elderly. I love Disneyland. I love being in the canyon on a summer or fall evening at dusk. I love my friends. While I have some extroverted characteristics. I’m a self proclaimed introvert. I’m generally quiet, calm, reserved and pretty darn private. Why in the heck do I blog? It’s a creative way to record family history. I enjoy photography. I really don’t like to write, although I write in my journal almost every day. I love the beach. I enjoy WWII history. I love a clean, orderly house, but ours looks lived in. ;) PBS Masterpiece is my friend. I adore Jane Austen films. They transport me to another time and place. If I had to choose another time period in which to live, early 19th Century England would be my pick. "Sense and Sensibility" is my all time favorite movie. My favorite TV series is the Spanish Drama "Velvet." My biggest pet peeve is people who blow their noses in public. So gross! {Take it to the bathroom people.} I’d go on a wine tasting vacation if it wasn’t against my religion. I’ve always wanted to adopt a baby from a foreign country. I’m an avid BYU football fan. I love our campfires at Scofield Lake. I have a 'thing' for fairy gardens and Gallic French roosters. I love summer rainstorms and warm baths. I'm a Rush Limbaugh and Hannity Talk Radio Show listener. Also a fan of several Fox News shows. I hate when my kids have homework. I collect quotes, Madame Alexander Dolls, and Disney pins. I always prefer sitting in a back row versus the front. {I'm sort of a seat snob..yikes} I also have high expectations for my lemonade, salsa, and french fries too. HA! I work well behind the scenes. I love a good Dateline Mystery and the genealogy TV show "Who Do You Think You Are?" I’m a night owl. I'd rather be cold than hot. I enjoy being a chauffeur to my children. I’m an Anglophile… love anything English! I would like to serve a church mission to England with Jaren someday. I'm queen of paper towel, used kitchen hand towels and dishrags make me squirm. You’ll rarely find me out of the house not ready for the day, except when driving the kids to school on the days I don't work. I feel naked without lip gloss. Pairing up white socks, chipped fingernail polish, chapped lips and brownie crumbs on the floor drive me nuts! I like to organize and BE organized..but not saying I always am. ;) I enjoy hiking and ATV’ing with my family and snowshoeing with the hubs. Although I enjoy collecting recipes and occasionally watch cooking shows... (Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade, Paula Deen, and the Pioneer Woman are my favorites) I’d rather not cook. Eating out is so much more fun. I love the joy of anticipation and the celebration of holidays. Family traditions are important to me. I'm a memory preserver. I'm a pathological picture taker ;) and I love happy lists!

Kyleigh Mission Update

Week 18

Hello Everyone!

Monday September 7, 2015
Both mine and my companion's bags died...the straps were broke. So we went to the downtown shopping center and had lunch with our Elders and Zone Leaders.. then went bag shopping. After that I had some downtime to write letters, which was nice. We emailed home, then had our Missionary Correlation Meeting, then Family Home Evening!

Tuesday September 8, 2015
Got all four hours of study done in a row...that like never happens. Picked out a new textbook for our English Class attendees to study from. We are prepping for the grand opening of our new English class..bigger, more professional version. Hopefully it will get more people coming. Maybe we will find some people that are actually interested in the gospel from this English class. The hard part is we really don't have investigators that we can teach gospel lessons to week by week and see progress. We just end up having a lot of new investigators. We get teaching about Heavenly Father and prophets and thats about as far we get and then either they drop us or something happens. We will see how things go.  Met with our investigator whose English name is Molly. She had a baptism date 2 years ago, so we are trying to figure out why she backed out. We have to take things really slow with her, but she has an open mind.

Wednesday September 9, 2015
We had Mission Tour! Elder Yamashita from the Quorum of the Seventy came and spoke to us. He talked a lot about focusing on our Investigators and working with members. His wife speaks only a little English so she did an origami project with us all. We each made paper lips and her point was to "open your mouth". Very cute!

Thursday September 10, 2015
We had three appointments set up. The first one was an older lady that is Catholic and she flat out said she can't change her religion. The next appointment was the older lady's daughter and she seemed interested in what we had to say. The third never showed and never bothered to call...how polite :) haha!

Friday September 11, 2015
We had our old folks soup kitchen service activity, and our little kids library service activity. We made brownies and visited two of the Sisters in the ward. We had Area Meeting and I had an old, creepy guy hit on me during the day...thankfully one of the Elders was near by so he shooed the man away haha!

Saturday September 12, 2015
We had English Class and I taught the advanced level. Sister Park and I visited a less active couple with a Brother in the ward and his daughter. They took us out to dinner after.

Sunday September 13, 2015
My fourth month mark! Woot woot! It was our Fast and Testimony Meeting. I decided to be brave and get up and share a scripture and share a simple (cuz I can't say much in Korean yet) testimony about Jesus Christ. That is the first time I've really gotten up willingly and bore my testimony in a fast and testimony meeting. Baby steps. Gotta start somewhere! I shared Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." I was glad I did it. That night we were invited to attend a Daegu Stake Fireside. They didn't have anyone translating it into English, so I didn't understand much. I had trouble staying awake haha!

The christlike attribute this month that I've chosen to work on is charity and love. I'm really focusing on loving the people, I feel when I do that the language comes a little easier. Hoping my language skills can improve. It's getting to the point where I can understand some things, but it's also still super frustrating.. people will be talking to me and I straight up don't know what they are saying because I don't know the words and there is nothing I can do about it. People are probably frustrated with me...they want me to do things, but I don't know what they want me to do, because I can't understand...so yah... the language is coming slowly, but surely.

I had a good week. I'm trying to stay busy, focused and doing my best. Hope everyone is happy and healthy!! Have a fabulous week!

Love,
Sister Kyleigh Cooper

Mission Tour! just 2 out of the 6 zones in our mission

In other family news this week....

We had a ward campout.
An experience for the memory bank for sure! haha

packed some "camping" goodie bags for the girls...

Good times around the camp fire with ward members...

Me, hubs and Kate slept in the hammocks.
 Super cozy!

Do you see Kate?
She is in there somewhere...

Hannah and B tented it.
Emmsie missed out due to work. :(
Hannie work'in on her blow up mattress...
It had deflated by about midnight she said..haha
I don't think my kids have ever had a playdate at 7:30 in the morn before...

In more fantastic football news!
It was spirit day at the elementary...Co Cougs!

Hannah and I had tickets for the BYU/Boise State game Saturday night.
We looked forward to it ALL week.

We had a little photo opportunity with Taysom Hill's cardboard cutout.
Next best thing to the real deal. ;)
He was Hannie's favorite player.
We are both super bummed about his season ending injury last week against Nebraska.

However.... we are quickly becoming Mangum's #1 fans.
We've known about this kid for years.
Back in 2011, the summer before his senior year of high school, he participated in the Elite 11 camp for some of the best high school quarterbacks in the country. We took notice then, and have been awaiting his arrival ever since...knowing he was planning on playing in the future for the 'Y'.

HE and the team pulled off another stunning win...

The game was crazy...it went down to the wire....
I get a text from the hubs at 11:34 p.m.
"I swear I hear your scream over the TV"
{better believe it}
The fans stormed the field...
Me and Hannie...so happy!
as happy as a pig in mud right there in the middle of the football field...

The night before the game my niece and her husband were staying at my parent's villa at Zermatt ...
guess who else was there at the Resort???..
THE FOOTBALL TEAM!
Dang!
My niece was on stalking duty for us...;)

Family Wedding..

My cute niece, Kara, got married on Wednesday!

It's Homecoming Week at the high school.
We attended the pep rally...Spartan Spectacular....

Look'in forward to the big game against Skyline tonight!
Go Spartans!

Randomness..

A couple of nights this week I've found myself reading out loud to not only my Kindergartner, but my Senior as well. We love Junie B. books. They've made us giggle for years.
Brie is starting the elementary band program..we rented a clarinet for her...
she is super excited about it..
We just need to get her feeling better. She has been sick ALL WEEK. Not fun!
More baking and hanging out for these two... before they head to kindergarten
{the afternoon kind}
which I'm a huge fan of
my twin nephews....
how cute are they?
