Kyleigh in the MTC
GOOD MAIL!
Don't think I've ever been so happy to receive a piece of mail before in my life.
We weren't expecting to hear from Kyleigh until Thursday (today) but we were pleasantly surprised to receive a card in the mail on Wednesday.
She wrote a quick note late last Friday night to let us know how she was doing. It was after hours...
{she even put 10 PM' ish haha}
Here are a few snippets from her card, the couple of emails & voice recording {that we received today!!!}...
" I just wanted to hurry and send you a quick letter to let you know I'm doing just fine. My companion is the BOMB! I seriously could not have asked for a better one. Her name is Sister Johns. She is from Texas and she is a year older than me. I have been so blessed with an awesome companion and District. There are three sister companionships and two elder companionships. I love everyone. We seriously have so much fun.
I really have learned so much already and my testimony is growing a little each day. My companion and I had to teach our first lesson all in Korean today.
{only the third day in the MTC}
We fasted so that we could do the best we could. It wasn't too scary. I also had to bear a short testimony in a Branch meeting and tell about myself. I kept it simple and my companion said I did good. Learning the language has been frustrating, especially because we are already teaching an investigator. For some reason, I can already mostly understand the questions he is asking (the gift of tongues is real) but I don't know enough Korean to answer back!! I know the language will come with time and I am trying hard not to get discouraged.

I already know how to say a prayer in Korean. :)
The food here is ummmm...pretty nasty. There are some things that are okay. I have a baked potato with cottage cheese on top all the time. Sometimes I just make a quesadilla. They have ice cream on Wednesdays and Sundays. So that is exciting. They have no avocados here :(
I have been able to exercise and I enjoy the little time that I get to do it.
I truly am doing really well. I think the MTC for me will be a fun experience because it has been so far! I love and miss you guys."
We are just thrilled and relieved to know that she is adjusting as well as she is.
Kyleigh's companion.
Kyleigh's district.
A friendly face from home!
Here is Ky with Tyler, a high school friend, that she has run into at the MTC.
They attended the same mission prep class a few times before they left on their missions.
They won the best smile award their Senior Year.
{Kyleigh is obviously trying to re create that moment. lol}
Kate's picture for Kyleigh that we mailed off today! Just so you know... don't use MTCdelivery.com for same day letter delivery. It doesn't work. Hasn't for us anyway. Stick with the dearelder.com. {Learning as we go here.}
Throwback to pre-mission life.
Kyleigh's last outing with her cousin shortly before she left....
We got our family pictures back....
Boy, have we had some rainy weather of late.
Some puddle action for Kate while on a walk with daddy!
Brie's Mother/Daughter Achievement Day Activity.
We are on the countdown to the end of school....Only three more days left for Kate and eight for the other girls. YES!!! :)
