Emma and Hannah surprised me with a crepe breakfast in bed on the morning of my birthday. It was such a sweet gesture, especially since they could have slept in a few more hours since they didn't have school due to Labor Day holiday. It was nice to have my birthday on a day when my kids and hubs could be home too. Emma gave me a ring, big and gaudy, sort of how I like my jewelry. :) When she was working at the hospital gift shop this summer they gave it to her free because it was broken. Unbeknownst to me she pulled out her button & bead collection late the night before my birthday, worked her magic and gave it to me in a little box on my breakfast tray. I love it!
I had a lovely day. Which included a bubble bath and IL DIVO music. Read, went Homecoming dress shopping with Kyleigh, watched Vampire Diaries with Emma and Hannah, took a nap. Went for soup and salad with the hubs and a nice walk with him in the evening. Had little gifts brought over from neighbor ladies, calls and texts from family and friends. I felt loved. My Relief Society Presidency took me out for lunch a few days before. That same morning I had gone to the dentist. {I had my first official cavity!!AHHH!} I've never had extensive teeth issues...{I've been lucky in that department}, no braces, no root canals, no fillings, and certainly no drills in my mouth, etc. They numbed me so good to take care of my cavity that my mouth was numb FOR HOURS afterwards. Weird feeling. I had to slurp my birthday soup with a straw.
Ordinary Days....
Labor Day weekend...Dad pruned the apple tree. We were in an apple mess! {I don't think we want to see another apple in the backyard for a very long time.} Picking up apples ranks up there for my kids as one of the worst chores in the world. They all declared they would rather be in school, drill practice even for Kyleigh!! That's say'in something.
FOOTBALL
I was so excited for football season to start!! And then Saturday's game happened. {Not too happy about the outcome of that.} Pre game the hubs assisted me in hanging the flag. We are a house divided ya know when it comes to football, so... he wouldn't actually hang it himself {doesn't want to be accused of being a traitor..ha!} but he will hold the ladder for me while I hang it. {Now thats gotta be true love.}
1D! OH BOY! We've had this date on the calendar for some time. The One Direction's movie "This is Us" finally hit the theatres!! Took some of the neighbors with, {one with a box of tissue in tow} Including two neighbor boys. I don't think they knew what they were getting themselves into, but this is how we found them after the movie...asleep! How could THAT happen?
Shots! Poor Emmsie had a reaction to one of her cluster allergy shots. We were waiting in the foyer to get her third shot of the day. She stood up and things got weird. She fell, scrapped up her knee, twisted her ankle. She felt like she was going to pass out. She was loosing her color! They hooked her up. Her heart rate was low. They gave her a shot of Epi and said no more cluster shots.
She will have to just get one at a time from now on. Its a five year treatment plan but when all is said and done, she should be allergy free for the rest of her life. That sounds so nice....since I really should have allergy shots too. I've got that darn pollen food allergy syndrome.
My baby Kate started preschool! {Kills me.} She will be going twice a week with her cousin. She even has her own locker!
Back to School Night at the Elementary. Brie's teacher has been teaching there since I was in elementary! My sister who is 8 1/2 years older than me had Brie's teacher! Needless to say she is a veteran teacher... Kyleigh and Emma also had her. God Bless good teachers. Brie is really enjoying school so far. So thankful!
Breakfast in bed and a great gift from their loved ones is the greatest gift anyone could have for their birthday. It’s a good thing that your birthday falls on Labor Day because, you were able to celebrate your birthday with them and have a blast. It just a bit disappointing that your dentist appointment didn’t go well, because of the news about the cavity. It may be surprising, since you seem to take your oral health seriously, but I hope after a few appointments and treatments, it will be back to its healthy state.
