My baby girl is 17!
Birthday Queen...may your reign never end...
B-day gifts!
Bday lunch!
Did a sushi drop off at the school on her lunch break....
That morning a special friend picked her up for school. Took her for hot chocolate, and gave her the sweetest gift...a scarf to add to "her collection", a bracelet and this single rose. He also took her out for dinner before Young Womens. Great guy!
Life is easing up a bit for her. She is so happy to have Region and State Competition over with. They performed at a home basketball game this week and it was actually fun dancing because there weren't any judges present. haha! They only have Nationals at the end of the month in Florida left and the end of year show. Relief! This is my favorite performance of the year. It was at Region two weeks ago where they took 2nd place in the Military category. They were just spot on! You could feel their energy and adrenaline. I could have passed out! I use my football scream at these events. The moms were hoop'in and a holler'in as we met the team in the hall as they were coming off the floor. Great memory! So proud of them for nailing it under pressure!
This was at State last Friday.
Long day. Two of Kyleigh's best friends came and stayed 8 + hours to support her. That is Loyalty with a capital L! We took the three of them out to eat after for Kyleigh's birthday dinner. So fun!
Dad is one of the best "Drill Dads" around. He is one of the few dads that you regularly see there at performances and competitions. He's very supportive and has the cutest MURRAY DRILL dad shirt to prove it.
He even carries his pocket knife so Kyleigh can cut the bottom of her gillies to help prevent her from falling on the slippery floor.
If you knew the story behind this picture {below}and the one of all of us {up above}. I had it taken on purpose for a reason. Hilarity people. Totally had my Prom post on my mind. I was secretly trying to take pics without them noticing.. Even Kyleigh's team mate came over and noticed the dynamics of the foursome. She summed it up perfectly, "awkward!"
Kyleigh had the Prince Charming Assembly recently too. Same week as Region. {Double whammy}. The M.A.G. girls got to escort the Senior guys who were Prince Charming candidates. She borrowed a beautiful pink dress from a friend the night before the event.... Just hoping it would work and fit descent enough. {There was no way I was going to rent another dress for $100 + a pop so she could stand on the stage for 5 minutes. Not with Prom around the corner.} We had no idea if it was even going to fit right. She finally got the time to try it on around 10 the night before. What a mess! We made it work, and she looked beautiful, but it really was not her style. And I don't even have a picture of her in it to show. But I don't think she minds. I say getting her in a ball gown with corset lacing by 6:30 in the morn with hair and make up done is memory enough. This girl keeps me on my toes!
Happy Birthday to our sweet, sweet Kyleigh!
