Ordinary randomness...
Emma helped throw a surprise birthday party for one of her best friends. Of course it had a British flare to it since they are all a little obsessed right now with all things GB. Emma made the invites and the cake.
In other party news....
I recently headed up our annual neighborhood/ward party. We had a great turn out. I think we fed close to 300! That can be a major production to pull off. Thankfully, I've had a lot of experience doing these type of gatherings from being in charge of them a few years back. When they put the RS in charge of it this year I didn't really sweat it much. We had oodles of help from many people. I'm telling you my ward is tremendous! We had our usual slip and slide along with the firemen coming to spray the kids.....
My best friend was doing some redecorating in her home and enlisted my help in searching for decor. When I was out and about with her I came across this awesome print of Couture magazine covers from the 50's and 60's. Love it! I knew instantly that it would go perfect in Kyleigh and Emma's classic Hollywood themed room. And a while back I found a few more cheap Audrey Hepburn prints to add to their so called "movie star wall". {We are finally done in there. I think.} ;)
Seeing little things set up like this in the playroom. Makes my heart smile....
Brie has had a fascination with Legos lately. It's pretty tedious work and it takes patience to put these creations together, but she enjoys it. She is so stink'in good at following the booklet of directions...she's put together a treehouse.. twice, a camper, and a dog show stage.
Hannah trying to dye a strip of her hair with Kool-Aid. It worked!
Poor Hannie had to get her 7th grade shots recently. Do you know how long she has been dreading this? FOR EVER! She has an undeniable fear of the needle. Poor kid. I had to have Dad meet us there at the doctor's office for moral and physical support, not knowing if she would be trying to crawl up the wall to escape. She started crying before we even walked into the building. We managed okay, but it was still tough. Afterwards, as a reward for her bravery I took her, her best friend, and Brie to see the new Diary of the Wimpy Kid movie. Cute show!
Dad took Kyleigh and her good friends, Kenzie, Allysan, Camille, Schyler and Austin up to Scofield for an overnighter. Emma went to be the cook. lol They had a great time hanging out and riding on the ATV's...
Kyleigh recently went on her first official "date"... It was with her good friend Schyler. lol They actually hang out all the time with their friend group and they've sorta hung out just the two of them before, like he's come over to watch a movie with her, sometimes they'll just talk outside until curfew, or the time he went with Kyleigh this summer to see the Joseph musical {but I and two sisters tagged along.} Ya know nothing big. They are good friends, but this was an actual "date" "date" where he called her up on the phone and officially asked her out...just the two of them...
Cracks me up that it finally happened. {there is kinda a story there} Anyhow, I so wanted to hide in the bushes and take pics, as I was not allowed to take any pictures when he came to the door! But Hannah, who was spying in the front room- took a pic on her phone, through the shutters, of them walking out to his car. {She accidentally erased it though...darn it... so I have nothing to show.}
