Camp Out!
Last week I had my three oldest away for a few days at YW's girl's camp..
They love camp and were so excited to go.
It was Hannah's first year! She wanted to have a painted camp chair of her own, so she created this below... Love the inspiration from her favorite animal. It glittered!
Kyleigh's aunt taught her how to make a dutch oven dessert so she could make it up at camp for everyone as part of her certification.
Emma made the cutest posters for the cabin that they stayed in. Their theme this year was "How The West Was Won."
I put together a little TLC treat bag from home for them to take with...and a blunt reminder to be helpful and respectful and to not complain. ;)
Dad sent them each the sweetest text before they left.
We got a pic sent to us while Kyleigh and Emma were on their 5 mile hike...On the return home there was some hilarious commentary from Emma about that little adventure.
While the older girls were away...I had some quality time with the younger two...I made up an activity bag inspired by the happy home fairy website. Seriously who needs Pinterest when you have her as a resource? You know I've actually never been on Pinterest. I do have a basic understanding of what it is because my sister showed me last Thanksgiving, but I've never felt compelled to use it. I'm sure its a wonderful place for ideas but I find that kind of stuff a bit overwhelming. I'm kind of a anti social network kind of gal in the first place, not a huge blog reader or facebook fan so it's no surprise to me I've never used it. I'm just kinda happy do'in my own thing. ;)
Crashing them down was a hit!
How to....Put three marbles in paint colors of your choice. Place in can lined with white paper. Place saran wrap over top of can with rubber band and then shake the heck out of it... We each got wrapped up in streamers...and then tried to break out...
We made a volcano from play-doh
Kate's face tells it all...
I threw the popcorn and Brie tried to catch it in her cup. This was a funny one to me. Kate didn't quite think so...
To make a nature bracelet....wrap a piece of masking tape around your wrist {sticky side out} and go for a little nature hunt, collecting leaves, rocks, little flowers, bugs, whatever you'd like...We also found a snail and a ant hole...
This little activity was a great lead in to our very own Scooby Doo camp out in the family room! Brie had been waiting for this for a looong time.{Does anyone want to ask what kind of sleep I got?}What's a camp out with out beef jerky and s'mores? Seriously two of our favorite things about Scofield. Brie said our camp-out was better than Scofield! :) I left a beef jerky stick on Brie's pillow and we also had s'mores, microwave style {which is Hannah's specialty} They are yummy! We watched some of Scooby Doo Camp Scare....
We pretended we were hiding from the huntsman in the Scooby Doo movie. I found these two in their hiding spot with their big blue eyes staring out at me. Gah! One of the cutest little mommy moments which I wish I could bottle it up and keep forever. Impossible to re capture that moment on camera.
She about beat me and no one does that with this game around here.
{Even the Mr. can't beat me!}
I have a picture of me playing checkers with my mom!
