But if you know my family well, you know how much we love a parade. ha! Can't you tell?
Emma happily stayed home and watched Kate who was still sleeping..
We had two parades to attend this year. And guess what? WE are all still alive. The Mr. {in particular} was such a trooper!
Kyleigh was in our home town parade with the High School drill team.....
We sit in the same spot year after year with some of my siblings and their families and we keep holding out hoping the parade will get better, but it never does. haha! We go to show our pride in our community, country, to be together, and get plonked on the head with salt water taffy, not necessarily to have our socks knocked off.
Emma marched in her first parade with her bagpipe band that night in Sandy...luckily their parade was slightly more entertaining to sit through. We had my friend and her son here from California as overnight guests. We had great fun together. After a KFC dinner {a serious must for me on the 4th}, evening parade, and iceberg shakes, we spent the rest of the evening at home with a movie, and did not attempt the fireworks. But we could hear them. Does that count?
For FHE we did sparklers. Some of my girls are spooked to even hold those things. I saw this idea on TV to poke them in a cup, which will cover your hand from any unwanted sparks. Brie and Hannah decorated the cups...a little more British inspired than American I noticed. At times I think for a split second that we probably wouldn't have minded if our ancestors had decided to stay in England. ;)
Happy Birthday America!!!
