Can it really be true?
We've got a 16 year old on our hands! Such a bag of emotions. On one hand you want to jump up and down for her, but on the other I could shed a tear. or two. {where is my baby girl?} But it's official, she can drive and she can date! I took her to get her license after school on her birthday. That paled in comparison to the excitement she felt over her new English fascinator. Don't know where in the hay she is going to where that piece of millinery, but nonetheless, move over Duchess Kate.
Two of her guy friends came and decorated her room the night of her birthday while she was at dance.
Cracked me up seeing these boys hang crepe paper and curly ribbon. They actually did a REALLY good job. I was impressed!
Color coordinating balloons!!
They made cards that told little things about her...
And a little box left on her pillow had a silver ballerina necklace inside. So very thoughtful.
Going along with the "Sweet 16" theme they left cute jars filled with candy and a certificate for cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory to redeem when she wishes.
I took her a special lunch to school, Dad surprised her at dance with treats for her dance company and then she came home to this surprise. Super, super sweet!
Over the weekend Dad and I took her to the restaurant of her choice. She wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse where she enjoyed a ribs and steak birthday dinner and then out for ice-cream. She's dyin to go to dance camp again down at the "Y" so that was her main birthday gift along with her room redo, which we are so close to finishing.
Happy Birthday to a complete sweetheart! A beautiful girl, and an amazing daughter who is more than a teeny bit fabulous in every way. So proud to claim her as mine!
Oh. my. word. 16. I remember when she was BORN. I remember when she WASN'T born. Happy Birthday!
