My goodness! DO NOT know where the time goes. The month is just fly'in by and I'm playing catch up with my random photos. Do not have many pics of our New Year's celebration. But that is okay. What a hum bug of a holiday. Not my favorite. Blah! We did, however, have fun hanging with family at my brothers on New Years Eve.....chatting, eating and watching a movie!
I just love my family.
We had to leave early as two daughters were at parties and needed to be picked up shortly after midnight. So...the overall celebration once that ball dropped in Time Square was pretty low key for us. No bubbly or ruckus raised with pot banging and kids running up the street. But we did see a few fireworks from afar as we waited in the car outside Hannah's friends. And we got to spy on their little celebration.
Emma and Hannah had a cupcake war.... competing to bake up their version of the best New Year's cupcake. Emma's specialty was made of spice cake with cream cheese sparkling cider frosting, decorated with shimmering balls & flakes, topped off with sparklers. Hannah called hers the NO SNOW CUPCAKE {in honor of us being pretty bummed that there was no freaking snow over the Christmas holidays}. It was made of red velvet cake with kiwi cream cheese frosting and a spike of egg nog, {she is so stink'in creative} topped with sparkling flakes, green grass {haha} and a homemade snowflake to top it off. I got to be the judge and taste tester. Love these girls! They are going to feed me when I'm old.
Someone has discovered the dress up clothes.....
Work it girl!
Kyleigh has had some quality girlfriend time
friends came to do glitter toes one night.....
And she attended a {practically all day} 16th birthday party for her good friend, Alysan. They had makeovers, did a photoshoot, went to lunch, a movie with the guys and then a trip to Nelson's Custard and back here to watch a DVD. The fun never seems to end for these guys...
Brie playing the nutcracker on the Ipad magic piano. Cracks me up!
A few current obsessions of mine....
this nut medley
AND
Oh my goodness! Last year at this time Kyleigh and I were hooked on season one of the Masterpiece Classic, Downton Abbey. It left us hanging and wanting more. We've had to wait A WHOLE YEAR for season 2 to start! The first episode of the season aired Sunday night on PBS. Stoked! I'm waiting to watch it though until I've re watched most of season one so that the story line is fresh. Dy'in. But we are almost there. Emma is enthralled in it too. Love, love this series!
