My Tree!
sorta love it. makes my heart smile. alot!
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Much pleasure thou can'st give me;
How often has the Christmas tree
Afforded me the greatest glee!
Have you heard of the German Christmas Pickle Ornament tradition?.... Well, at our house which ever child is the first to find the ornament of Santa holding the Eiffel Tower...they get the prize!
Speaking of Trees...We went to the Festival of Trees to see Kyleigh perform with her Irish dance group. If you ever want to see a mass of humanity... go to the festival on a Friday night. My goodness. Traffic and parking. Sorta of a nightmare. Once inside. Not much better. Hoards of people. {So not our thing.}
Dad had to stand in line twice to pay for tickets. Jeesh! Emma didn't feel well and was cantankerous, and it was clear Kate didn't want to be there either. So by the time Kyleigh finished dancing we just wanted to get out of there! We did not even stay to see what you go there to see in the first place. But we were not about to be smashed like sardines inching our way past a gazillion trees and gingerbread houses, {no matter how lovely}, with a uncooperative one yr. who wouldn't stay in her stroller, or who wants to stay fully dressed for any length of time AND who also lost her shoe, not to be recovered.
{Thus our outing became the most expensive kid recital we've been to.}
And...don't even get me started on these dresses. They aren't even finished yet, but they had to dance in them anyway. lovely. BUT at least they are an improvement from last years. :) We've had a few chuckles over these dresses.
My favorite part of the evening was when two of Kyleigh's guy friends surprised her by showing up to watch her dance. They were smack front row. on purpose. She sorta died. Her first number I COULD NOT stop laughing because I knew {I could tell} she was dying of embarrassment. I didn't blame her. Who seriously wants to be seen, by cute guys your age, prancing around in a dork costume like that? Here she is giving them a piece of her mind for pulling one over on her.
Crown Burger across the street saved the evening. We went there twice! Before for dinner and after for shakes with Kyleigh's friends.
Here is Kate snarfing down mom and dad's shake not one but two spoonfuls at a time.
