My Dancing Girls....
pre-costume the first night before the concerts...
Phew! It's been quite the past 4 days....my work party, ward Christmas brunch, two Mormon Tabernacle Christmas concerts, dance rehearsals lasting 5 hours and beginning at 5:45 a.m., dance recitals consisting of 4 different shows on two different nights, dinner out with friends, delivering neighbor Christmas gifts and a preschool field trip to Sweet's Candy Factory where I 'OD' on salt water taffy. Not sure why the Christmas festivities all seem to fall at the same time but nonetheless, its been a very pleasant weekend! The absolute highlight was being able to attend my girl's dance recitals AND the Mo-tab Christmas concert, "The Wondrous Gift of Christmas", NOT ONCE BUT TWICE. The concert featured special guests...eight-time Grammy winner...singer and songwriter, Natalie Cole, and widely acclaimed Pulitzer Prize winner, David McCullough, author of New York Times national bestseller, 1776 and John Adams. We originally did not receive tickets through the random selection process and were going to go "stand by"... in the frigid cold... BUT the last minute we were lucky enough to receive tickets from a co-worker and neighbor and again from a sick relative who was unable to attend Sunday morning's broadcast. They were the hottest tickets in town this weekend....for the four individual concerts only 84,000 tickets were distributed out of 1.2 million requests. It was a thrill to be there! It has been a tradition to attend for some years now and it makes my holiday season complete EVERY year.
A few more recital pics....
We had seven different costumes between the three girls...we managed to get photos of them in at least one...they all did such a beautiful job...we were so proud of them and all their hard work...
Poor Hannah had the sorest scalp from having her hair up so tight, it gave her a headache. Geez, mom "How many bobby pins did you use?" She was so exhausted the next morning, she sat up in bed to eat her breakfast and then snuggled back up to go back to sleep. I couldn't get her up to get ready for school so I let her sluff for the first couple of hours ssshhh! I had no idea she would be snoozing away still at 10:50 a.m.
