This weekend was also Young Women'sin Excellence.
We did a Sound of Music theme.
{It all tied back to when we gave
ourselves nun names at girl's camp
this past summer!
I was Sister Mary Angelique. 😜}
We sang the "So Long Farewell" Song
to the Values.

We even tied the food into the theme.
We served Austrian Apple Strudel...

Swiss Hot Cocoa.
The hubs has German ancestry.
These German lederhosen
belong to him.

In other happenings....
The Veterans Day assembly at school is hands down my favoriteassembly of the year.
My nephew got to be a part of the color guard.
It was sweet watching him.
Every grade sang a patriotic song
to honor the vets.
My dad was one of many
in the slide show being recognized.
He was a First Lieutenant in the Army.
This guy is 93 years old and a WWII vet.Fought on D-Day.
He is the father-in-law of Kate's
4th grade teacher and also the dad of my hub's
best friend. What an awesome guy!

In food news....

I'm a little obsessed with my Hallmark
Christmas movies...
and really just Hallmark movies in general.
