Ordinary Randomness.....
We pass the new Cottonwood Heights Park with splash pad included on our way to music lessons every Wednesday. In the dead heat of summer it looked like the whole valley had descended upon on it. You couldn't have paid me to go. One day it looked so barren, { it had to have been after school started} that we finally attempted it. Kate practically had the place to herself.
The hype before the fall...The football season is down the tube at this point, but before we blew those close two games the anticipation of a great season was abundant around here. I found BYU paper products at Costco to eat dinner off of at night. I was stuffing BYU napkins into the girl's lunches whenever I could and even added BYU mints the day before the big game. One of Brie's friends at the lunch table asked her "What is UP with your mom?" haha. {just a little cougar crazed is all}
Heading home from the elementary school carnival with a treat for Kate. Had to leave her at home with Hannah. Trying to watch her and face paint at the same time...um...no... I heard she cried at the front door for a half hour after we left. So sad.
Kate's idea of good entertainment. Wrapping me and her toy friends up with masking tape. I swear all I need to get this kid for Christmas are rolls of tape and boxes of band aides. She would be thrilled. She literally went through a box of Scooby Doo band aides in one day.
The girls and I had a smelling contest with our body sprays.. closing our eyes and trying to guess which smell was which. It produced some laughs for sure. Have you smelt the Bath n Body Work scents for Fall? Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is one of our favorites along with the new Cashmere Glow!
Emma and our neighbor practicing for the neighboring ward's parade that they were asked to lead....
Young Womens in Excellence...had a princess theme. "If the temple is not your castle, then you are not my Prince." Kyleigh and her best friend Kenzi put together a power point displaying questions that they had asked their guy friends about girls, modesty, the temple etc. Very cute and enlightening. Kyleigh, Emma and Hannah displayed their ten hour projects...
Hannah displayed her duct tape creations....
A little early morning humor...
Emma made frosting graham crackers and felt the need to put her mark on them...smart girl...When I opened the fridge at 7 am to start making lunches one morning this past week I found this note....gave me a chuckle...
Emma with some help from Hannah has been bak'in up a storm. She has held two bake sales recently. The first one they made $50 bucks in two hours standing out on the corner. Pretty impressive. People were coming back for seconds for her chocolate sheet cake! She also made almond poppy seed muffins, chocolate covered bananas, and little cheesecakes. The second sale, on the first day of autumn, they sold all Fall flavored kind of muffins....
They are saving their money hoping they can earn enough to one day buy a dog. They've got it all figured out...which kind they want, what its name will be and how it will be dressed. They want a Cavachon, a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Bichon Frise. English and French. {perfect} It's name will be Louie Bennett I {the first}. Louie, cuz its French and Bennett from the Pride and Prejudice 5 Bennett daughters. It will have a rhinestone collar and wear a pink bow tie. It will basically be our gay dog! {hilarious}. If it happens to be a girl the name will be Charlotte. And we will call her Lottie.
Emma's note was hilarious...and she has better penmanship than me, which makes me totally jealous. :)
