Homecoming
What an eventful weekend!
Spartan Spectacular kicked off the Homecoming Festivities on Thursday night. Kyleigh performed. Dad and I had a little flashback to our high school days..We got to watch the burning of the "M", a Homecoming tradition that Dad's year started in 1985. Kyleigh performed again at an early morning assembly the next day and then again that night at the Football game where they performed their new pom routine. She felt so sick she thought she could puke! But she was tough and made it through with a smile on her face....
Boy #2 and Boy #1 arriving to pick up Kyleigh and her friend Alysann for the day activity on Saturday...
Nine couples hiked Ensign Peak....
That afternoon my good friend Kenyra came to do Kyleigh's and two of her girlfriend's hair for the dance....
Kyleigh's date coming for her...{both moms were on the porch taking pictures..so dang funny} Prior to this I was out taking pics of Kyleigh and her girlfriend when we saw the boys driving up, the girls ran inside and we shut the door so that the boys could come calling properly by ringing the doorbell...etc..So these pics were pretty much staged...It was a whirlwind weekend. On top of all the Homecoming events and preparations, Emma played her pipes at a church function, Hannah was working on her art creation for a YW value project, I face painted at the elementary school carnival, The hub and I did Temple sealings, watched the BYU vs. Utah game {Blah!}, stayed up til the wee hours of the morn to hear how Kyleigh's date went and attended Stake Standards Night. I survived the weekend but my iPhone barely did. Two potential catastrophes...I couldn't find my phone Thursday night on my way out and realized after searching that I had accidentally thrown it away in the outside garbage can while throwing out garbage..I had had my purse and hands full as I was ready to leave and absentmindedly threw my phone away too. What a dork! Then the next night we were one row from the top of the bleachers at the high school watching the football game and Kate drops my phone to the concrete 20 feet below. Luckily my phone was still alive. Kate was barely. lol Needless to say we are not taking her to the next game..
Girl, I am a day late and a dollar short. I have no excuse, as I was IN Utah on your birthday. Now we are down and out with strep. But I will get your package off sometime before Christmas. Forgive me.
