Bonjour!

Bonjour!
I’m a 52 year old mother of five amazing daughters and wife to a caring, sensitive AND sexy husband. I adore my family. I’m dedicated to my faith. I enjoy a good laugh. I'm nostalgic and love to reminisce. "Remember" is my favorite word in the English language. I love life! I’m passionate about music, food and {dreams of} traveling the world. I wanna be a castle and waterfall chaser. I’m fascinated with anything European. {PARIS! Hello!} I love celebrating anything and everything! I love to read, especially a good biography, mystery, Regency Era Romance or Historical fiction novel. I love thoughtful gift giving. To me the gift wrap is almost as important as the gift itself. I have a bit of an obsession with gift boxes and gift bags. As well as old world maps & globes, apothecary bottles and jars! I love being creative…bolts of ribbon, coordinating scrapbook papers, producing a table scape, or planning dΓ©cor for a themed party puts a smile on my face. I love the details! I’m a freak for anything theme oriented. I enjoy event planning, but oddly enough do not like to host or entertain. I enjoy fashion, but have to really be in the mood to clothes shop. I love purses and funky costume jewelry. Especially big rings! I’d rather wear wedges or heels any day than flats. I enjoy decorating and searching for the perfect decorative pillow or picture. However, you’ll never see me frequent high-end stores. I'm more of a Ross, TJ Maxx, Tuesday Morning kind of gal. My favorite decor style is an old world rustic Italian chateau/Spanish Villa look with a hint of bohemian! OR a vintage shabby chic French country cottage/English cobblestone farmhouse. My #1 cookie-Molasses! Autumn is my favorite season. I’d go through childbirth a million times. I enjoy biking with my man, Pilates, and power walking. You’ll never find me in a gym working out. I love movies, whether watching them in the theatre or cuddled up on the couch with my family. I enjoy a good chick flick or real life drama! I'm a sucker for movies on the Hallmark & Great American Family Channel. I have a tender heart for the elderly. I adore Disneyland. I enjoy being in the canyon on a summer or fall evening at dusk. I love my friends. While I have some extroverted characteristics. I’m a self proclaimed introvert. I’m generally quiet, calm, reserved and pretty darn private. Why in the heck do I blog? It’s a creative way to record family history. I enjoy photography. I really don’t like to write, although I write in my journal often. My journals, patriarchal blessing, scriptures, quote book, and beloved Christmas tree filled with ornaments of family memories are among my prized possessions. I love the beach. I enjoy WWII history. I love a clean, orderly house, but ours usually looks lived in. ;) PBS Masterpiece is my friend. I adore Jane Austen films. They transport me to another time and place. If I had to choose another time period in which to live, early 19th Century England would be my pick. "Sense and Sensibility" is my all time favorite movie. My 3 favorite TV series are...BBC's Larkrise to Candleford, the 1950's Spanish Drama "Velvet," and the travel/food show "Somebody Feed Phil." My biggest pet peeve is people who blow their noses in public. So gross! {Take it to the bathroom people.} I’d go on a wine tasting vacation if it wasn’t against my religion. I’ve always wanted to adopt a baby from a foreign country. I’m an avid BYU football fan. I'm a Educational Support Professional. I tutor elementary kids in phonemic awareness, phonics, reading, fluency and comprehension. I love our campfires at Scofield Lake. I have a 'thing' for fairy gardens, Gallic French roosters, fresh flowers in a vase, pretty bowls & plates, yummy smelling candles & soap. I love summer rainstorms and warm baths. I'm a scripture podcast fanatic. I'm also a fan of several Fox News shows; Hannity and Dave Ramsey Talk Radio. I very much miss Rush Limbaugh! I hate when my kids have homework. I'd rather clean 20 toilets than give a talk or prayer in church. I have quite a collection of Madame Alexander Dolls, children's books, Disney pins, and quotes. My favorite quote is "Don't underestimate me. I know more than I say, think more than I speak & notice more than you realize." True True LOL! I always prefer sitting in a back row versus the front. {I'm sort of a seat snob..yikes} I also have high expectations for my lemonade, salsa, and french fries too. HA! I work well behind the scenes. I love a good Dateline, 20/20 or 48 Hour Mystery. I’m a night owl. I'd rather be cold than hot. I love to budget our finances! I enjoy being a chauffeur to my children. I'm not a huge fan of social media. I don't snap, pin or tweet. All I want for Christmas every year is a ticket to the Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. It's my FAVORITE. I’m an Anglophile…a royal watcher who loves anything English! Especially tea parties! I would like to serve a church mission to England with Jaren someday. I'm queen of paper towel, used kitchen dishrags and sponges kinda make me squirm. You’ll rarely find me out of the house not ready for the day, except when driving the kids to school on the days I don't work. I feel naked without lipstick or lip gloss. Mismatched socks, chipped fingernail polish, chapped lips and brownie crumbs on the floor drive me nuts! I like to organize and BE organized..but not saying I always am. ;) I enjoy hiking to waterfalls, ATV’ing with my family and snowshoeing with the hubs. Although I enjoy collecting recipes and occasionally watch cooking shows... (Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade, Paula Deen, Jamie Oliver, and the Pioneer Woman are my favorites) I’d rather not cook. Eating out is so much more fun. I'm a foodie. I live to EAT! LOL Trying new foods and restaurants is a favorite past-time, and believe it or not so is intermittent fasting. I'm not good at a lot of things... but gosh, if you need help with a themed celebration or someone to enjoy good food with, I'm your girl. I love the joy of anticipation and the celebration of holidays. Family traditions are important to me. I'm a memory preserver. I'm a pathological picture taker ;) a visual storyteller, and a lover of happy lists!

What's On My Happy List?

Kyleigh in Italy....

Here are some pics from her weekend trip to
Amalfi Coast, Capri, Naples, and Pompeii.......
She said Positano,
a famous town on the Amalfi Coast,
was GORGEOUS!
and felt like a backdrop for a Bond movie
or one with Grace Kelly and Cary Grant.
😍
Can you even?

And more pizza....
I think she's having the time of her life!

*****
Graduation Day!!!!
Go Hannie!
πŸ‘Š
She was awarded a Murray Medallion, an American Citizenship Award,
and a career cord for completing at least three units of credit above the
core requirements in the STEM field.
She received a $2,000 scholarship from LDS Hospital for her volunteer service,
and The Merit Scholarship from Dixie.
However, she will be attending SLCC instead, studying Pre-Health Science,
as she is interested in the Dental field.
Having Dyslexia and being overly studious doesn't always mix so well,
but this kid held her own over the years and we are super proud of her.
😘
The Poppi got to be up on the stand with his school board duties handing out diplomas.
He was able to give Hannah hers along with a
big hug and funky handshake!
😌
Some of her besties!
Good thing Hannie has older sisters who've graduated...
Her good friend Ashton was wearing
Kyleigh's gown...
and her friend Dillon was wearing Emma's!
{They forgot to order one!}
πŸ˜‚
Thor and Hannah have been going to school together since PRESCHOOL!
Hannah has such a great group of friends!!!!!
These triplets are some of Hannah's favorite people on the planet...
Their Senior Quotes were so clever....
These twins are also friends of Hannah's...
laugh out loud funny!!!!
Hannah's took the cake tho.
{for us anyway}
"I may or may not have streaked the
football field"....

Fun Fact: Hannah is the only one in the fam who will graduate
 at 17
like I did!
I was freaking 17 still when I went to college.

Emmsie made a "graduation" music playlist
for Hannah
with songs like Forever Young,
The Time of My Life,
With a Little Help From My Friends...etc.
Super cute and thoughtful!
Our Spartan Ad in the yearbook for Hannah!
and her graduation announcement....
We went to Catina
 after graduation to celebrate...

*****
THAT night.....
was the ALL NIGHT graduation party at the
 high school...
Me and another lady were in charge of decorating
the casino area the day before.
Brie helped us too!
Emmsie would have, but she had to go take a
Statistics test.
😝
This project took forever.
Just say'in.
{shout out to tape I've discovered called
Gaffer Tape, it saved our butts on this project
with all the hanging...
it's more of a heavy duty tape, like duct tape,
but doesn't leave any residue...I ordered it on Amazon.}
I helped the hubs on security detail and chaperoning til 2:00 A.M.
Once the casino closed, we took down the decor
and blitzed home to bed.
😴

These are the centerpieces I made for the
eating tables outside...
Found the gold jars at Zurchers.
Also made this money lei!
Which was overly time consuming.
Wouldn't recommend it.
😜
The Project Graduation Party goes from
10 PM to 5 AM...
with all sorts of stuff to do...
glow in the dark dodge ball, photo props,
karaoke, military obstacle course, caricature drawings,
hypnotist, prizes galore etc...
It's quite the ta do!
{One of Hannah's friends won 2 plane tickets!}
πŸ™Œ
Hannie in the cash cube!
They had awesome inspirational quotes
in the hallways...
I love this one!
It was great running into Hannah during the night...
Luv this girl!
😘
*****
The fun continued for Hannah
as she went on a Sr. Trip to Moab
with her friends....
They rented an Airbnb

They had a blast!
How could you not???
She arrived home on the afternoon of her
18th birthday!
This was waiting for her.

Finally...her own car to drive...
she's been driven by friends or family her whole high school life.
Poor kid!
πŸ˜‚

It's tradish to do a "this is your life" in pictures on your 18th birthday.
Looking through old photographs to do this....
not gonna lie, kinda had a meltdown.
Where does the time go?
😭
Hannah wanted to go to a new pizza place
in Fort Union
for her bday dinner...
It reminded me of Blaze Pizza.
{both places offer gluten free..so that's nice.}
You can make your own pizza...
Which Hannie loves, cuz she's a little picky...
Eventhough she had corn, broccoli and pineapple amongst other things on there...
😏

We did a few s'mores in the backyard
later that night...
Hav'in the time of their life apparently.
😜
{This picture cracks me up!}

KATE!
Kate's last day of 2nd grade!
She decided she'd rather go to
yearbook and field day
than sit at the boring graduation.
Can't blame her.
πŸ˜‰
Kate had a great year and sweet teacher!
End of year teacher gift...cactus plant.
A thank you to the cross guard lady...
gift card to Sodalicious!
Got these cute print-ables from Etsy..
Sodalicious btw has a good sugar cookie
with cream cheese frosting...
πŸ˜‰
Used my extra tags to attach to Capri Suns
for my kiddos in Primary.
Little end of school year gifts for Kate and B.
Beach towels and summer-y things.
πŸ’›
We had a little ice cream party ourselves!

her favorite friend over.....
Dog sitting!
****
BRIE!
 Survived the 7th grade.
She got really good grades, made lots
of new friends....
Yet super happy it's summer!

I loved looking at her yearbook with her.
She went through all her classmates
and I'd hear tid bits of info like....

"Everytime this girl swore she owed me 5 cents.
She owes me like $5 dollars!"

"This girl comes to school in her p.j.'s."

"I've never seen that person before in my life."

"He complimented me on my hair color."

This is the girl that cried, "Oh, Jesus help me when we were sewing."

"He's the one that asked me if I needed a boyfriend."
πŸ˜‚
{funny stuff I tell ya!}

She is not a picture taker so I have NADA
of her and friends at the end of school year activities...
But she just painted this picture this week so I'll show that instead.
πŸ˜‰
*****
Other random....
Celebrated a friend's birthday with sushi!
πŸ˜‹

Phew!
I think that's it for this week....
