A Peek into our Spring Break...
Kyleigh and I had a "Home Fires" Marathon.
This Masterpiece beauty aired about a yr and a half ago,
but I never got around to watching it.
The second season just started last week so that inspired me to
get a move on it.
I AM LOVING IT!
WWII time period.
{my fav}
*****
Was able to meet up with a girlfriend for a yummy lunch
at BLAZE pizza...
{I love that they have a gluten free crust option}
Their white top with bacon and arugula.
YUMMY!
*****
Kyleigh, Hannah and I went and saw the movie "LION."
It's about a five yr old Indian boy who gets lost from his family...and his journey to find them again.
Gosh guys....
anything based on a true story I'm just a sucker for in general,
but this movie... goodness...
IT IS EXCELLENT!
RUN TO SEE IT.
*****
Kate loves crafts! You'd think she had died and gone to heaven with our trip to Micheal's during the break.
She made this hedge hog pillow.
{Both she and B have a thing for hedgehogs..and have for awhile actually}
Kate is wanting a real hedge hog for her 8th birthday!
We shall see. haha
Kate got a comb stuck in her hair...sister had to cut it out..
π―
Hello stubby patch of hair on top of head!
*****
Brie and Kate had an outing with their Aunt and twin cousins...
*****
Enjoyed this read!SO VERY GOOD!
The setting is in India.
If you love Regency Era, proper romance novels, you will love it too.

*****
The hubs and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary!!!
He bought me a really nice Fezzari bike so we can go out biking together.
Taking it out for a spin...as in a 5 mile bike ride!! π
with all this India goodness swirling in my head
...from the recent movie I'd seen and the book that I had read...
I was craving Indian food, so India House it was to celebrate our anniversary.
They have excellent
chicken samosas
chicken tikka masala
shrimp vindaloo
mango curry...oh and mango shakes!
good stuff!
π
The hubs and I have such different tastes in movies...
but this is one that we both get a kick out of and actually re watched
together.

The fam went on a road trip down South to visit some National Parks with some extended family...Two of my sisters, a brother-in-law, a brother and his wife and some of their kids, and my elderly parents.
It was a riot!
We stayed at Ruby's Inn at Bryce Canyon
The cousins so enjoyed being with each other.
Overlooking this site at Bryce gave me chills.
It's just breathtaking!
We hiked down into the canyon...
So flipp'in cool!
Kyleigh met a Korean family as we were hiking.
She was so stoked about that and was able to chit chat with them in Korean.
um....
Subway was an inside joke the whole trip.
I love me a Subway!
{The sweet onion chicken teriyaki is my favorite}
but gosh I had way too much of it on this trip.
Sometimes that was all there was open in these dinky towns... with noth'in open past 9:00!
We kinda took over the place. haha
***********
Our excursion to Zions!
Lots of time in the car!
"Who would you kiss, marry and kill" is a very enlightening game.
π
We drove thru part of Zions...
and then the whole fam took a shuttle thru another part...
After visiting the parks we found ourselves in Hurricane.
Just in case you are ever there and need a place to eat....π
Visit Lonny Boy's!
Yummy BBQ...
their baked beans, coleslaw and hush puppies.
De-lish!
AND their honey butter???
liquid gold.
liquid gold.
I sorta took some to go.
{That good!}
AND they have free frozen yogurt... like Jason's Deli used to have.THE KIDS WERE SO STOKED!
we loved Jason's Deli...it was a favorite go to and it's no longer in business...
here in Murray anyway. π
Some pool time!
My sister Shannon and I taught the rest of them the art of pool racing...haha
Souvenir time!
To get Brie to dress up in these old clothes was no small feat.
She has a legit phobia of old things...
you can read about that discovery HERE ...
on her 5th grade field trip
to the Pioneer Museum.
*****
We stopped in Panguitch, the town my mom grew up in.
This is the home her dad built.
They raised many kids in this little house.
They were parents of 11 children!
We visited my mom's grandparent's home too...
The little green house next door {behind my mom}... that used to be brick...
was my mom's Great Grandma and Grandpa Henrie's home.
We visited Panguitch cemetery where my grandparents are buried!
Super chilly and windy!
My mom's baby brother and sister's graves...
π’
Our last pit stop before heading home....
a little drive-in dive in Panguitch with yummy hamburgers!!!
*****On Sunday Kyleigh attended a companion's homecoming!
She has met the loveliest people because of her mission....
It was a fabulous week my friends...!
