Kyleigh In Korea
Mission Update Week 34
My new companion is super cute! She is Korean. She speaks really good English. She graduated from LDS Business College and went to BYU for a year. She actually lived in Murray for a little bit too. Kinda crazy, huh? She is a convert and the only one in her family that is a member of the church. She is probably like the coolest Korean I know! We are having lots of fun together. She is really awesome.
A couple days after Christmas I started feeling homesick. Those feelings for home I've kind of been able to repress, but they resurfaced for a little bit. So it was kinda hard for a couple of days. I asked Elder Miller to give me a blessing of comfort. I'm doing a lot better now. :)
This week has definitely been crazy, interesting and exciting. Elder Miller and I are the only foreigners now serving in this area. Elder Miller's Korean companion doesn't speak much English at all. We communicate the best we can...it's a lot of fun. The branch is really excited to have two Korean missionaries. It does make a huge difference with understanding the members and in getting things done. My old investigator, Chloe, is in the hospital for a month. We got permission to visit her and we will keep encouraging her to read the Book of Mormon and keep the Word of Wisdom. We've got a lot of new appointments for next week. We are plugg'in away at a bunch of stuff. We call it "office work". :) A lot of going through the area book, making calls, updating information, organizing etc..We are doing a lot of finding and discovering, figuring out where everything is. It's a lot of fun!
New Years we went to the church early and met up with some ward members. We went and watched the sun rise together with a bunch of people out by the beach. The huge Hyundai engineering boating plant is in our area...just a couple of streets away from our house so we went into their compound and watched the sun rise from there. It was super cool! We ate the traditional food that they eat on New Years. Played a game..it was really fun to see what they do for their traditions. Can't believe its already 2016!!
I love you all very much.
Love,
Sister Cooper
