Happy Mother's Day to me! Boy, we had a whirlwind of a weekend. THE Roadshow, a school dance, celebrating Mother's Day etc...By the time Sunday rolled around we were poop de duped.
No one wanted their picture taken, {me included}.
So as you can see I'm missing four kids. lol Kate and I are the only ones that managed to get ourselves in the front of the camera to document the day...and that was pushing it.
Emma and Hannah surprised me with breakfast in bed that morning. Actually I was up already, showering, getting ready for church when I heard commotion in the kitchen, cupboards banging etc. {The thought of it makes me giggle.} Maybe cuz it's pretty rare on a Sunday morning for my kids to be up on their own that early, it usually takes numerous times to get them up and moving....
SO I knew something was up!
Sure enough they were cook'in. {for me.} Oatmeal, eggs, dicing fresh fruit. I got to crawl back into bed and eat my breakfast. I loved the surprise, and the sweet cards they gave me...
I'm a lover of good quotes. I have a quote book that I collect my favorites in. Here are two quotes on Motherhood that I love..
THERE IS NO PERFECT WAY TO BE A GOOD MOTHER....EACH SITUATION IS UNIQUE. EACH MOTHER HAS DIFFERENT CHALLENGES, DIFFERENT SKILLS, & ABILITIES, AND CERTAINLY DIFFERENT CHILDREN. THERE ARE A MILLION DIFFERENT WAYS TO BE A "GOOD MOM".
M. Russell Ballard
MOTHERHOOD BRINGS AS MUCH JOY AS EVER, BUT IT STILL BRINGS BOREDOM, EXHAUSTION, AND SORROW TOO. NOTHING ELSE EVER WILL MAKE YOU AS HAPPY OR AS SAD, AS PROUD OR AS TIRED, FOR NOTHING IS QUITE AS HARD AS HELPING A PERSON DEVELOP HIS OWN INDIVIDUALITY ESPECIALLY WHILE YOU STRUGGLE TO KEEP YOUR OWN.

I look at the pic from her very first high school formal dance {she looks young!} and then to her last...It's been a journey for sure with lots of memories!
She finally got to take her favorite guy to a dance!
She filled a chest of some of his favorite things to ask him, and took it to the football field...
He in return- to answer her back- sent her on a scavenger hunt to places that have meaning to them, each place had a basketful of momentos from their courtship. You could tell he had put a lot of time and effort into it. Super thoughtful!
The spot she watches him play baseball at Ken Price Field.
She was just SO happy...pick'in up her date! {It's super convenient that he lives just around the block} This dance date has been a long time a com'in.
boutonniere pinning and the corsage pics...gonna miss those!
Did I do it right, mama?
LOVED her corsage!
Emma there to help with the heels...
The dinner and dance was at Gardner's Village.
It was a busy weekend for these two as they also starred as Ariel and Eric in our ward roadshow, in front of the whole stake {it was a project months in the making}....they were such troopers for me!...but that's a whole other post....
