Y Day
A bit behind on posting this one....THE BIG GAME DAY.
{Which was the same day as Murray's Homecoming Dance... a lot of hoopla going on around here that day...}
The day didn't start so well, or end so well for the majority of us. haha. We woke up to a "U" mischievously painted on our lawn in the wee hours {there is quite the story to that} at the hand of our Utah neighbors. We have a few of those.

Dad beat me hanging his flag first with the nice sturdy clamps, which almost left me trying to hang mine with chip clips. A precarious situation amongst the wind storm we were having. But I prevailed.
Had some "right back at ya fun" with some of our U neighbors. I made a tombstone
that said
R.I.P. U of U
and put that alongside the painted U on the lawn with some blue and white balloons. Dad kifed it once, but we negotiated and they were put back out. Then they disappeared again. {And it wasn't the hubs this time around.} Me and Hannie had our cougar claws out. grrrr! that said
R.I.P. U of U
I bought a U neighbor a pizza, but before delivering it I made a Y out of pepperoni to put on top of it. Sure took them by surprise when they opened the box to bake it. Gotcha!
To get the last laugh, the next night they hand delivered a home-made pumpkin pie. One of my very favorite things to eat! It was delicious, although we had to spread the whip cream around to make the pie even edible. Ha!
I happened to score some tickets off of KSL classifieds for me and Emmsie to go down to the game. Had to meet some unidentified dude at designated day, time and place to pick up tickets. Not the most ideal situation but I've used the classifieds a couple of times before to buy football tickets and I'm still alive. Although I will say every time I get my tickets this way I feel like I'm on a drug run. haha. Not that I've ever been on one to really know, of course, but if anyone could read my texts it would be cause for concern. Meet me off this exit...cash only...what color of car are you driving? Cracks me up!. Emmsie and I were able to go down with my brother and niece.
SO MUCH FUN.
I'm telling you, this is one of my very favorite places to be! Night games are the best. This one started really late, but I didn't mind one bit. I was able to see Kyleigh off on her Homecoming date and still have time to get to the game..
Emmsie and I had more fun watching the Utah fans around us getting kicked out of the game almost more than watching the game itself.
The outcome gave me the BYU blues...Reminiscent of one of my favorite posts of baby Kate here.
This bowl of red m&m's was waiting for me on my bedside table {compliments of the hubs} when I got home after 1 in the morning.
NOT a pleasant site I tell ya.
NOT a pleasant site I tell ya.
Win or lose.
My blood is true blue!
Always and forever!
Look at these cute Y cookies a BYU friend dropped by a few days before game day.
Could of used a few of those post game.
Well, I can't really say there is always next year. Make it three. Blah!
