A neighbor of ours and her sister, both uber talented, are launching their own magazine this June called Hearth. My three youngest were in a photo shoot with other neighbor kids for one of the upcoming magazine stories. ...Making ice cream the old fashioned way.
Kate wasn't cooperating....um..imagine that...so I'm not even sure if she was photographed for the real deal but these were some fun shots I got myself.
Loved this vintage tray table holding all the ice cream toppings...
The Mr. and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary! How awesome is that? We had dreams of being in Europe somewhere on our 20th...{but our kids are our Italian sky at the moment.} Instead we tried out a new local restaurant haha and had some yummy food {I'd go back for that mango salsa alone} and then we hit a movie. We definitely share a love of good food and the movies... And I love my man!
My sister who is 55 accomplished a dream of mine last Friday. She graduated from BYU! Oh gosh. So excited and proud of her!! She started at the "Y" 37 years ago but put her schooling aside to get married and raise her family. Look at her now!
Her girls put together a picture time line of her life from the time she started her college journey to now. It was so sweet. We celebrated with the infamous BYU creamery ice cream and mint brownies.
O.k. Yum. This is one of my favorite sandwiches right now. The hubs, who rocks in the kitchen, {especially on Sundays}, made them for us after church.
They have apricot preserves, brie cheese and spinach. So easy...
Serve with Quinoa and fruit and you've got yourself a pretty darn tasty meal. Although my kids preferred the turkey and pesto ones he made.
Do you wonder what a bathroom counter looks like in the morning with a houseful of girls? Brie saw all the hair appliances out and took a guess which sister used which one for school that morning and what I would use. She was spot on.
Brie walks to my parent's house every Tuesday after school to spend some time with grandma. I went over to pick her up and caught her playing a duet with grandma on the piano. So cute!
The playground at our park is finally finished, equipped with rock climbing walls and all. It's pretty awesome looking although its geared much more for older aged kids. The slides are so high I'm afraid Kate will fall and break her neck climbing up the ladder to get to them. No joke, I have to follow behind her. One slide she won't even go down without me...its too scary.
Does this not look like something from the show wipe out or a torture chamber? Where are the good ole swings?
Kyleigh's YW's advisor brought over a good luck cake the night before she took the ACT test. So sweet!
D. I. drop. We don't even have a VHS player any more. Seeing them all go kinda made me nostalgic. That's why I had to take a picture. {I told you this post was random.}
A birthday gift for Emmsie's good friend. We love putting together friend gifts. {You can get the cutest inexpensive boxes at Burlington.}
Here is Emma with two of her best friends who made the drill team for next year. They are all smiles here but boy, they have no idea what they are in for! ha!
They will be on the team with Kyleigh!
She did decide to try out again.... although she was on the fence up to the day of tryouts!
So glad that's over with.
{I didn't know how many more times we could have hashed the pros and cons of doing drill or not doing it. Poor thing.}
I'm like a PBS freak right now. The only shows I religiously follow are all on PBS Sunday nights, Call the Midwife, Mr. Selfridge and have you seen the mystery thriller, Bletchley Circle? I do have to say I get a kick out of watching Duck Dynasty though. The whole family does. Thanks to Dad who got us hooked on it a few months back.:)
One of Kyleigh's best friend's brother left on his mission recently. Her friend was taking it pretty hard. To cheer her up we made her a sunshine bag... of all yellow things!...I saw this idea online somewhere...other friends added more yellow things like yellow roses, yellow loofa and yellow tube of mascara, etc. It was way cute!
My grandma has the same complaints about the playground!
