The Big 40!

My siblings threw me a par-tay on my big day. I was so surprised when I saw this cake. That's me! In the third grade.

 It was a beautiful summer evening!

My siblings are 16, 14, 12, 10, and 8 years older than me. So I am reeaaallyy the baby of the family. My mom had lost a baby {full term stillborn} four years before I was born. She has told me that before she was pregnant with me how much she wanted another baby. {she had me when she was 40} 

I looked like an angel she said when I was born, thus the name Angela.  

Grandma Bell had died a couple of months before my birth and it was a sad time for the family. I've been told again and again (probably every birthday I've had) how happy the family was when I was born. They were thrilled! One sibling would run home from the Junior High (2 miles away) so she could be the first to hold me after school. My sister would carry me around the house on top of a pink satin pillow. {awe ha! my husband said when he heard that story for the first time. He's certain that's where the spoiled-ness stems from! :)} I was very much and still am loved by these beautiful people!

This is my family!!! There were over 40 of us there Sunday night... yet 22 of us were still missing. Either sick, out of state, out of town, 2 on missions...etc. We have quite the crew...

 These four..hilarious to listen to...their talk of starting up a future business together. 

Jaren and I were actually able to get away...

OVERNIGHT on a Friday night...just the two of us! {Practically a miracle.} I think it has been four years since we've been able to do that. We had a nice evening together at one of the hotels in Salt Lake that I've always wanted to stay in..Hotel Monaco. Funky, unique, with a French flair. 

 Our room was smaller than this one pictured without all the extra furniture. All we needed was a place to lay our heads. And that I did. I actually took a hour and a half nap at 9 p.m. I was that tired!  I croaked at our dinner bill. I love food ya know, but I would have been just as pleased with a $3 In n Out burger.

 These were hanging in our closet! His and Her bathrobes. Cracked me up.
