Zoobies for an afternoon!
I must admit the zoo is about a 3 on my fun scale. Luckily most my kids agree. I can make a visit and then be good for 5+ years before I go again..and that goes for about every flipp'in museum in the valley, whether it be the Children's, Natural History, This Is The Place, or Dinosaur. I'm terrible.
{really not a fun mom when it comes to that kind of stuff}
I cannot comprehend the yearly passes to those places. I'm quite certain that would be the last thing on earth I'd purchase.
The kids have been to the zoo more recently than I have so its not like they are deprived or anything. haha. But it had been a while for me! Field trip with Hannah in preschool or Kindergarten? yep, long time. I decided it was high time to be brave {really brave, especially in this darn heat} and take Kate on her first ever Zoo trip.
We survived. {barely} Kate is in that terrible toddler stage where she is so dang difficult to take anywhere. Sucks the fun right out of it.
The carousel was a hit though!Riding the train...
A reprieve from the heat thanks to squirting elephants and dinosaurs...
Hannah's absolute favorite. The giraffes! Worth the trip right there.
In honor of Hannah's favorite animal....Kate's giraffe leggings...
Bye Bye Zoo..see ya in another 5 years!!!!
Before the older sisters got home I had a little last hurrah with the Hannah, B. Olivia and Kate...sent them on another scavenger hunt.{we love those things}.
It was a Winnie the Pooh themed one...looking for Eeyore's lost tail! I sent them to different places in the house and outside where he may have left it.
One clue they found Owl..in the apple tree of the Hundred Acre Wood {of course} saying Christopher Robin was in trouble, and they must find Pooh and the gang to help... who were last seen ....
swimming in hundred acre wood's pond...I froze figurines of Pooh and friends. I got that idea here but put my own spin on it. Girls had to crack open the block of ice with a hammer {good idea to have goggles} to get the last clue, which said we'd go see the new Pooh movie that afternoon where we would discover if Eeyore finds his tail and if Christopher Robin was really in trouble, or was Owl just dreaming up an imaginary culprit?
Girls came home Friday morning!
They had a blast at camp! They so love their YW leaders. We have such a great ward. I enjoyed hearing all about their week....
They stayed home and watched Kate {nice to have my babysitters back} while we escaped to see Pooh that afternoon!
Obviously we 'do' movies. I managed to fit in another two before weeks end! Watching "Charades", the old Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn classic with dad and older girls Friday night {along with a game of charades with B. Olivia and Hannah} And a Saturday date night movie and dinner with the hubby. I am now a fan of Captain America.
The younger girls are glad to have their entertainer back! I found them doing this on Saturday. Facials, pedicures and manicures...
