Happy Mardi Gras!!!
We'll be celebrating Mormon style {with no bead throwing nor bosom flashing} but rather with some Mardi Gras King Cake...
Did you know that the King Cake has been associated with the Mardi Gras season for many years? The season begins on January sixth, known as the Epiphany, the day the three Wise Men of the East, Caspar, Melchoir and Balthazar, found the baby Jesus. The King Cake reminds us of this day by its shape, color and decoration. Its oval shape represents unity of all Christians. The colors purple, gold and green stand for justice, power and faith. A small baby doll, bean or coin, is hidden in the cake to symbolize the finding of the baby Jesus. Whoever finds this symbol in their slice of cake traditionally buys the King Cake for the next celebration.
Whomever finds the baby in their piece of cake at our house wins $5! Brie was pretty darn excited when she found it in her piece.
I do have lots more to talk about but will share later...My excursion down south with my brother for one of MY MOST enjoyable Saturday afternoons on record...
My new electronic gadget that I'm in complete love with...
And the best of all, my baby turned ONE. Pics of that celebration coming soon....
