10 years of Disney...
A look back
January 2001 trip
Favorite memory...Staying at the Disneyland Hotel was the fav but really it was everything about the whole trip. Seeing your kids experience Disney for the first time. Magical!
with Aunt Dori having breakfast with the Disney characters
My little Hannah Isabelle was just 6 mo. old on her first trip. Characters are not supposed to hold your children but we got lucky with Belle. Poor Han looks scared to death.
January 2002 Trip
Favorite memory...My sister and her family joined us this year and came for the next 6 years..that's why you always see my niece in the pics with my girls. This year still remains one of my favorites...cool weather and hardly anyone in the park due to recent 9/11. Everyone was too freaked to fly. Not us.
January 2003 Trip
Favorite memory..Another sister of mine along with some of her family joined in on the fun and came this year as well....it was a blast! We had quite the crew that year....I also remember a hot spell (of course I would) and having to buy t-shirts for the girls to survive the heat that day. Grandma was just recovering from thyroid cancer surgery. She was a walking zombie. Not too fun for her, but she was a trooper!
Febuary 2004 Trip
Favorite Memories...Driving from Arizona where we lived and meeting the extended family in Disneyland. We went the first week of Feb. this year so we got to celebrate Kyleigh's 8th birthday in the park. Another memory is the older girls getting lost from our group! just a tad unnerving. We found them shortly after at our special meeting place..the statue of Walt and Mickey in the center of the park.
January 2005 Trip
Favorite Memories...Little Brie was just 3 months old on this trip. Can't forget the rainstorm that drove us back to the hotel.
January 2006 Trip
Favorite Memories...the first time Uncle Ryan was able to join us. Flew in from So. Korea. Also, I remember the mosaics all over the park that year for the 50th Anniversary that they were still celebrating. They were amazing! The pin trading started in full force this year and we've enjoyed it every year since.
January 2007 Trip
Favorite Memories...First trip that all of Jaren's siblings were able to come. I also remember this trip as the Princess Year. Had some great picture moments with those ladies.
January 2008 Trip
We went the first week of January this year to see the Christmas decorations. Insane. and never again. as it was way too crowded. We did a lot of sitting around that year. LOL But the fake snow falling from the sky and the lit up castle in its Christmas splendor is a favorite memory for sure.
January 2009
It was cousin Daniel's first time and we had friends along with us too.
Their kids had never been before so it was fun seeing them experience Disney for the first time.
November 2010 Trip
Well, the heat and the sickness were clearly the standouts this year.
Check my prior posts for the more pleasurable moments...
All I can say is that we have some fabulous memories from this Happy Place.
Precious family time that we will always treasure. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa who started this wonderful tradition 10 yrs ago. and who make it possible for all of us to go every year.
We were there that first week of January 2008 at Disneyland, too! You are so right--the crowds were INSANE! I will never do that again. The castle was definitely magical and so was "It's a Small World". :)
