SHOESDAY!
It's Tuesday and time for another favorite shoe post.
These hiking boots endured 4 days on Pioneer Trek this past week....walking and pushing a handcart 27 miles in dirt, prairie grass and hilly terrain at Desert Land and Livestock just outside of Evanston, Wyoming. I will never forget the look of pure exhaustion on both Kyleigh and Jaren's faces when they got home late Saturday afternoon! They were filthy, covered in dirt, sweaty, sunburned, blistered feet, a tad stinky and not to mention beyond tired. Quote of the Week for sure was Kyleigh saying "I'm never doing that again!" LOL What an experience they had! Loved hearing every detail of their struggle, their triumph (Kyleigh rocked it on the women's pull. Not only helping the sisters from her family but going back down and helping another family push their handcart up), their fun, humorous and embarrassing moments, as well as their testimony building experiences. Hearing Jaren's "moments", over a quiet dinner for two at our favorite dive of a Chinese restaurant, were sweet and tender. He was emotional and we both ended up in tears...
Baby Kate's shoe post for the week..wishing they made these in size 10 so I could wear them!
These strappy, barely there heels I've had for years, yet still one of my fav's...
Other highlights of the week:
*Taking the kids to see Toy Story 3 (had to hold back the tears in that one) with our neighbor friends and eating out after..
*Getting 7th grade booster shots, Kindergarten shots and 4 month immunizations over with in one looong doctor's appointment without too much drama and tears. Brave girls!
*My great nephew, Baby Trigg, being born...
*Brunch with my RS Presidency (love those ladies) and going out to visit some sisters in our ward after. Which I so love doing and one of my favorite things about my calling.
*Eating our summer-y Portuguese inspired Sunday meal out on Dori's porch...
*Playing board games and cards with the girls...
*Watching Hannah's favorite movie with her..."The Lightening Thief "
*Seeing Kyleigh play in her tennis match...
*And wishing I could see these guys on Broadway....The "Jersey Boys", the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Love their music. My sister saw them in London in May and another friend this past week in Australia. Jealous. I think Kyleigh and I have watched this video a million times.

Sorry to say that Kyleighs boots are my favorite shoes this week! Everyone who goes on those treks says they never wnat to do it again but that it was the best experience ever! I'm glad they only do it every 4 years! My girls will get to go together if I did the math right!
