Some more summer randomness...
Slip Sliding Away
Kyleigh with cousin bubs...
Adopt a 'Do
I've always enjoyed doing my girl's hair but I've never been able to FRENCH braid. Anything other than a normal braid has been way too complicated. LOL You'd think after all these years and having all girls I'd know how by now but the skill has always eluded me. Not anymore! I JUST learned how a few days ago from Emma, who learned how from the cutest website for girl's hairstyles. The lady actually has 'how to' videos for a plethora of different do's. Here's proof of my new talent...love the pineapple piggies at the end.
TRAINING FOR TREK
I dared Kyleigh and her two cousins, who are leaving for Trek in a few weeks, to get in their pioneer clothing and walk close to 3 miles around the wards in our Stake. I bribed them with $10 each for the boys and a new 3 barrel iron for Kyleigh (which she has been desperately wanting of late). They totally went for the challenge. They actually pushed wheelbarrows (in place of handcarts) the whole way....it was hilarious to watch, and so worth the money I lost. Wish I had a picture of the wheelbarrow action but it was dark by the time we returned. They were such troopers!
HIVE SCARE
We definitely now know that Brie is allergic to penicillin. She had an intense delayed reaction to the antibiotic she was on for supposed strep throat. I've never seen hives like this before. It was so sad...she was itching like crazy! The picture does not do it justice...they were ALL OVER! It was so BAD! We tried allergy medicine, home remedies like grandma's concoction, as well as rubbing milk of magnesia on them, which surprisinglyly provided some relief, but only an RX for pediatric Prednisone started taking them away. However, she is still struggling with some of them 72 hours later. Crazy! She's wondering if they will they ever go away? Poor thing!
Boot Camp'in
My two oldest left for YW's Girl's Camp this morning. So missing them! Half wish I was there. As there are soooooo many fun memories of the last three summers spent at girl's camp. Even Dad gets to go up for a night for priesthood coverage. Bummer! So those of us left behind are off to go have some fun with the neighbors at the movies.

Slip-N-Slides are the best! You're not gonna believe this, but I can't french braid either! and I have a cosmetology license! My instructors said - after many hours of trying - "You better pray you don't get asked to do that for the state board exam!" Whew! I didn't! Yours looks great!
ReplyDeleteThe trek training is great! They look like they are having fun! Courtney just got home from their girls camp! She had a blast...their theme was "We've got the Power!"
Ooooh - Mason had a really bad amoxicillin reaction like that when he was little. He even got hives on his scalp! And it was the 2nd time he'd been given the medicine too. Poor little Brie - glad she is doing better. Hope your girls had fun at camp too. Me & Jeff went up to our ward's for the bishopric night & it was a blast! (One night at camp is the way to go!) :)
