Alice in Wonderland has always been in Kyleigh's top three of favorite Disney characters along with anything Aladdin and Peter Pan. Back in February, in my pre-baby days, I was planning our surprise mother daughter dates in hopes of having some memorable one on one time with each girl before the baby arrived. At the time, I knew just what to do with Kyleigh since no one else in the fam had the least bit desire to see the upcoming Disney/Tim Burton inspired "Alice In Wonderland" movie. (Alice in Wonderland to Emma is what Wizard of Oz is to me. creepy. creepy. creepy.)
Along with going to the movies I had planned to give her this Alice in Wonderland eye make up by Urban Decay. I was SO excited because I knew she was going to love it. She and I lurve make up! In another life we were make up artists in Hollywood. LOL Anyhow, things did not turn out quite as planned as the movie premiered March 5th, the weekend I was in the hospital having Kate. However, I was still able to give her this make up kit. It's like the cutest thing ever! It opens up to a pop up scene of Alice in Wonderland and the eye shadows all have Alice In Wonderland names like...White Rabbit.. Drink Me, Eat Me..Mad Hatter and Midnight Tea Party, just to name a few. Anyhow, Love Love this makeup. One of my latest favorite things for sure.
Still have not managed to escape with Kyleigh to the theatre to see this movie yet. Not sure if I've missed much though. It seems so dark and Jonny Depp is just beyond bizarre to me, just like his Charlie and The Chocolate Factory character, that I'm not dy'in to see it. We will eventually....But I hear the dollar theatres calling.
Speaking of movies....LOVE THEM. And I've seen a few lately. Just not Alice. Jaren, as part of his Stake calling, (or else he wouldn't have gone) was in charge of the Stake Father and Sons over nighter last weekend. Go figure! Poor guy didn't even have a son to take. And then he had two of the girls up at Scofield this past weekend. So, two Friday nights in a row we've had all girl movie nights. So fun! We've watched "Toothfairy"... cheesy but surprisingly funny. "Only You" a romantic comedy classic in my book..darling show..love it! And one of my new favorites "Leap Year"...
Amy Adams is adorable and Matthew Goode is ruggedly charming with an Irish accent to boot. Yum! The scenery was breathtaking. It had the Irish coastline I'm dying to see some day, and the music in the film was awesome too...Two of the songs "Dream a Little Dream Of Me"and "Never Forget You" were promptly added to my project play list so I can listen again and again. The other thing I love about this film is that it was relatively CLEAN. One that I can watch with my girls, unlike some others I've recently seen...um...should we say "Valentines Day" and "Date Night". Especially the latter. Unless you want to literally feel like you've been to a strip bar on your night out, don't go and see it! I was disgusted. And I'm no prude. The genuinely funny and clean parts were few and far between the filth. Directors definitely pushed the envelope on that rating! Jaren and I were both initially very excited to see that film, as it came out on our anniversary, but left very disappointed. I suppose that's why "Leap Year" appeals so much to me...FINALLY a descent romantic comedy in this day and age. "When In Rome" and "Letters to Juliet" are next on my viewing list. whoot!
I ADORED "Letters to Juliet"--it was CLEAN and very sweet(except one part where the guy gives them the finger--totally unnecessary!!) I love, love, LOVED it! The amount of kindness that people showed others (and basically what the whole movie was about) was just perfect. Definitely going to get the DVD as soon as it comes out. Plus, I adore Amanda Seyfried--she is cuteness and sweetness personified.
ReplyDeleteKarly and I are planning on seeing letters to Juliet as well. I also liked Leap Year. We should do a big girls night out.
ReplyDelete"When in Rome" is a cute show - I really liked it, and even Jeff didn't think it was too bad for a chick flick! :) I really want to see "Letters to Juliet" - the scenery alone looks amazing! P.S. Love that make-up kit!!
ReplyDeleteI took my 3 girls to see Letters from Juliet! DArling! We loved it, it was so clean and charming. A little predictable but worth the fun watching a clean movie. I will go see leap year.
ReplyDeleteI loved that movie "Toothfairy" also! It was very cute and funny! AND CLEAN! Yeah!
