mission update-week 62
Rain or Shine it's Luau Time!
This past week we didn't know if we were going to be able to throw our Luau that we have been planning for weeks....the weather is so unpredictable here with it being the rainy season. After tons of miscommunication with our Ward Mission Leader and trying to figure out what to do if it was pouring rain, we were able to pull our Luau together. It was a huge success. We had 13 non members come and a lot of members showed up to help with cooking and show support. Us missionaries did some hula dancing and the ward missionaries put on a bunch of fun games. We played human foosball, water ballon volley ball, guess that song and Pictionary.... :) I think the thing that was pretty cool though was that we kept praying for it not to rain because we wanted to be able to show the members that we can throw a successful party/fireside. We had a lot of skeptical members...but the rain stopped and we were able to gain the members trust! Yay! So hopefully next time they will be more willing to bring their friends. It's a group effort to help people come into the gospel. Us missionaries can't do it alone.
Also through out this week we had many small miracles that made me start to think just how blessed I feel to be able to serve in Korea. We might not be having baptisms every week, but through these small miracles we are able to see the Lord's hand in our lives and in the lives of others. If we want to be happy we have to look for the good. The gospel is true and sometimes its good to sit back and let ourselves remember that. I do it all the time now :)

My wonderful (and mostly unresponsive) friends and family,😬
I had my first interview with my Mission President. I think it went rather well with no reprimanding of my sinful or disobedience ways... which I shall tell you all honestly that I have been a very very good girl and doing my best to be an obedient and good missionary so that other people will be able to see the Light of Christ through and in me!
So we had a Luau planned for this Saturday and there was a forecast of rain. Our mission leader was like we should postpone it. And us missionaries were like rain or sun hopefully people will come and if we don't do the activities as planned we will just teach them a hula dance and eat watermelon! But it didn't come to that because our mission leader decided to go forward with it and it was a success! We had a LOT of ward members at the party and 13 non-member/less-active/investigators there... It was amazing. At the beginning it was raining but when we were having our outside games and food, there was no rain. The miracle of prayer and faith is amazing!
Kanae (a Japanese member of the ward who is married to a Korean man, they are so cute together! ) is leaving for Japan this week for the next 6 weeks so we weren't going to see her again for a while so we stopped by last night a got a picture of her and her cute family (minus her husband, he was home teaching). Their youngest son is possibly THE most adorable thing to walk (crawl) upon this earth, so yeah.... His name is Haru (하루) and he has stolen my heart.
Also, I got a rape whistle noise making thing and it is orange and very loud. The package told me to "DON'T WORRING".
So I hope you all have a great week and DON'T WORRING!!!!
