New update....
I had a doctor's appt. on Wed. the 3rd. I was dilated to a four. My doctor wanted to see me back the following Monday, that is IF I hadn't had the baby before then. I went to bed that night about 11:50 p.m. having had contractions throughout the evening about 30 minutes apart. I was only in bed for about 40 minutes when my water broke. (that's a first for me) Even though our hospital bags were mostly packed we found ourselves in somewhat of a frantic mode just trying to tie up loose ends before leaving the house. Also, the not knowing if I had dilated further didn't help matters either. (I get to a six and I'm ready to push within the half hour.)So needless to say Jaren broke some speeding records on our 20 minute drive to the hospital. At this point, my contractions were much more intense but only about 7 minutes apart. Once we got to the hospital things started to happen and they happened FAST... My cervix was checked again and I was at a 6. I knew we were running out of time and I was desperate for the anesthesiologist to get there in time to give me an epidural. It was hard not to panic, moan and start to cry. The good news is that I was able to get an epi but barely...the nurse said had we been 15 min. later in coming it would have been too late. I was probably at a 10 before the epidural fully kicked in...and oh my goodness...WAS I IN PAIN...I went about that far in labor with Emma without pain relief. So in some respects feeling that pain was not anything new to me, but for whatever reason it seemed the pain was up a notch this time around. I was feeling pain I'd never felt before! I do know I squeezed the living daylights out of Jaren's hand to where there was no blood circulating. LOL BUT, at least I was pain free pushing her out, which I was thankful. Everything just happened so quickly, it was like a dream. From the time I got into the bed and hooked onto the monitors etc...it was only about 50 minutes before the baby was born. My other labors have been 15 hrs, 3 1/2 hrs., 4 hrs, and 6 hrs. This one, if you count from the time my water broke...it was 2 hrs. tops. Kyleigh was able to be there for the delivery, which was exciting and a special memory in and of itself! Afterwards, I was a little worried I had freaked her out..usually I'm a little more calm and collected during labor, but with this one, I felt like I was in panic mode most of the time. She has told me she didn't sense that... so I must of hid it well. She said the grossest part was seeing the placenta! LOL Kyleigh made me a special pink and brown pillowcase in her Home Ec class at school just to take to the hospital..her teacher embroidered MOM on there. So sweet!
Here I am seeing and holding the baby for the first time...she swallowed some meconium in the womb..so right after she was born she was whisked away for 20 minutes to get her lungs cleaned out.

Home Sweet Home..here we come! Although I am beyond grateful she is here and healthy, I can't believe the pregnancy and labor/delivery part of the journey is over. I look forward to it with so much anticipation that I'm a little sad to not be pregnant anymore. I know, so strange, especially for how uncomfortable I was the last few weeks! And yes, no matter how much discomfort and pain I was in, I'd do childbirth again and again. To think that this was my last time having a baby makes me want to sit and weep. Seriously. I was so tickled when they said, "ITS A GIRL" I did a whoop in the air with my fist. I do believe I was secretly hoping for a girl all along.
