What's on My Happy List Today?
Back to School- (Okay, not sure the Back to School thing makes the happy list but seeing Hannah pictured here with some of her girlfriends, waiting for the school bell to ring, did). I actually shed a tear this morning as I sent the older three girls back. You'd think I'd be used to this by now but I guess for some it doesn't get any easier. A friend, who saw her oldest off to High School today, was shedding a tear right along with me. Such mixed emotions! Looking forward to the routine that the school year provides yet wondering where the summer went. However, meeting up with girlfriends for breakfast after we saw the kids off DID make my happy list.
Throwing the annual neighborhood picnic this past weekend for a couple hundred people. Seeing my better half stuck at the snow cone machine for half the night, watching the kids have a blast going down the water slide..... so I joined in myself, fully clothed (minus my cute apron) with the excuse of needing to accompany Brie Olivia down.
AND getting this cute little vase of roses as a thank you gift from my dear friend and neighbor, thanking me for my efforts with the party. SO SWEET AND THOUGHTFUL!
Becoming a Great Aunt (for the third and fourth time), as my nephew's wife gave birth to twin girls. So darn cute and so wishing they didn't live as far away as they do!
"Mom, look at me! " moments such as this one.
Seeing "Bourne Ultimatum" on Date Night and then upon returning home, sneaking off to share a Burnt Almond Fudge Malt with double nuts (with the kids thinking we were just going to get gas in the car.)
Watching the premiere of High School Musical 2 with the kids AND 17 million other Disney cable viewers. As you know the Wildcats break out in song numerous times throughout the show (obviously, it wouldn't be called a musical if they didn't) but oh how funny when Dad blurted out "Lets sing about it!" when he'd obviously had enough of the dramatics. It's one of those had to have been there moments but nonetheless, it made the Quote of the Day for me!

Hi Paris Lover,
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog! I was privileged to meet most of the 1984 Championship Players (that I didn't know) when I wrote and published 13 and 0: Reflections of Champions. Mark Bellini was very, very nice.
And yes, Alvin did play for BYU 1984 to 1987. And yes, he played with Mark Bellini.
And yes, I'll drop by your blog often. I'm so excited for the season this year. Aren't my nephews handsome?!
